Respectfully disagree on all counts. Concocting a future scenario based on perceived weaknesses due to injuries, or in Michigan's case, some penalty-suspension, shouldn't be a factor. IMO, FSU's problem is they play in a pony league despite having had ample opportunity to put on their sec big boy pants. What if Nebraska got a little better (fg kicker, OC, QB) and went to the Mountain West. Instead of losing every game 10-13 they could win 20-13. Should they then whine about not being invited?Committee made the right decision. FSU is not an elite team nor would they have been competitive in the CFP without Jordan Travis.
SEC has won 4 straight national championships and 6 of the last 9. That conference deserves the benefit of the doubt until they are defeated when it counts
As for what the SEC has done in the past, who cares? This is the 2023 playoffs. Should Nebraska and Oklahoma be considered for their past success?
