Here is the content of a letter-to-the-editor written by an Alabamian [I submit it without comment. I didn't write it. An entertaining perspective, at least.]:

After having discussed the " supposed " Klan Rally at Ole Miss`s last football game with several other people we had all individually come to the same conclusion, the whole thing was a front, a set-up.

Their robes looked to be made of silk, which is too expensive to be used for that purpose. Their flags still had the crease`s in them as if they had just been bought & this was their first time to be used.

In short, I don`t know who these people were that were calling themselves the klan but, I`m certain it wasn`t the real klan. However, I do know what their motive was. I think some group opposed to the Confederate symbols at Ole Miss put on this whole scam inorder to help achieve the goal of getting rid of every rememberance of the Confederacy removed from this university.

Perhaps, someone with more talent & resources than myself would like to investigate this & see who it was that was really at Ole Miss pretending to be the klan for obvious reasons. Just my thoughts on the matter

Just kidding. I actually like Peyton, but I've heard the mom is a BEEATCH and Eli is a brat. Don't know them, just what I heard (from multiples sources.)

I am supprised that the letter was written by someone from Alabama.

I believe those authentic clan robes were made of Polyester something most folks in Alabama should be well aware of.

I am just saying is all...

but didn't Nutt basically say he thought the whole thing had been perpetrated by rival schools trying to scare recruits away?

No, he said that he felt like some rival schools were trying to use their presence to keep players away from us. Honestly though, if anyone is going to be swayed by that type of recruiting, they probably aren't coming to us anyway.

And I for one hope they are. I hope they all have a slideshow of it and copies of articles. Simply for the fact that every representative of UM went into every single recruits home during that NCAA witch hunt MSU was under and told them we were going to be hit hard. And this was all the while UM was stirring up half truths and lies to keep the NCAA in town. I mean, having the audacity to have Doug Buckles stand in front of an investigator and tell of the improper benefits he got when a high school friend loaned him 20 bucks on a recruiting visit when McClendon was driving around in a Southaven car dealers SUV at the very same time?

Hypothetically if Mullen is going in every recruits home and passing out articles of this and showing the clip of Crunchy Mike over and over again.. that would still mean that MSU is FAR from even.

I mean UM fans can quit crying over coaches using that already. Especially when they have used it to extreme in the past.

Well if you Google the Mississippi Chapter of the KKK (Petal, MS based) there is a little write up on their recruiting trip to Oxford. They also have a nice little write up on their Summer Crawfish Boil Social (Not kidding!).

It's like something you would see on South Park.

"Annual Crawfish Boil Social and Cross Lighting Ceremony"

you mean like Pat Petterson. Seem to remember him being MIA for a visit in Starkville.

Maybe NUTT said that because he is guilty of that type of recruiting...

They were just dressing up in their Sunday robes for Ole Miss. It was a big day for the boys.

I was talking about negative recruiting, and my point is that if a guy is going to be swayed easily away from us by negative recruiting, he probably wasn't all that interested in t he first place, and that works both ways.

As far as the other type of recruiting, you're probably right with Patterson. I always thought he was for sale. There are a lot of players that I've thought were for sale over the years, some come to us, some go to you, and some go out of state. Sure we play the game, just like everyone else.

There were more of you than there were of them. You didn't make ONE SINGLE MOVE. Your whole attitude was "not now...it's a game weekend".

Bet if it was 12 LSU fans eating crawfish and throwing the heads on the grass, you wouldn't have cared if Chuck Norris was guarding them...you'd have all died trying to get at them (one at a time, while everybody stood around waiting their turn).

I heard that the flag was bought at the !#%* bookstore.....but again, that is just rumor. But it would explain the lines in the flag.

Man, how things have changed. All things considered, I think everyone there handled that ******** about as well as you possibly could have. The stupid pricks were there for 10 minutes, and they left with their tails between their legs. They had probably hoped for everyone on campus to applaud their presence, and when they realized how ridiculous they looked, they left.

I applaud the students, alumni, and police that were there.

To you Rebs, they were more like that crazy Aunt you stuck in the attic every time you have guests over, NOT representatives of the largest and most dangerous domestic terrorist organization in American history. If anything, you should've had black police officers protecting them...THAT would've shown how "times have changed".

P.S. You'd never have problems with a riot, if, say, a referee made a bad call against the OM in the LSU game, like, say, gave them an extra two seconds to stop the clock and kick the game-winning field goal. Don't forget...football is only a game.

You know, I *!@!!$% hate that these ******** have an organization in our state. You seem to celebrate it as long as you perceive it to help your side in a football rivalry.

There were plenty of pics of the Kluckers and the cops protecting them. Show the pics of the black cops.

In 1938, after Kristillnacht Americans were wanting to storm the German consulate in New York. Mayor LaGuardia sent cops to protect them...Jewish cops.

Any school who loathed the Klan, and truly wanted to make a statement, would've had nothing but Black cops protecting them.

P.S. You know, I *!@!!$% hate that these ******** have an organization in our state. Then show the same hatred and anger towards them you do LSU fans (your real rival, cough cough), or obnoxious State fans. Trust me, none of you are about to find out where they live and make nasty midnight phone calls to them, or send threatening e-mails, or poison their pets.
