Positives:
Woodie Marks - if we were in a different system we’d be talking about his potential to be one of our best ever running backs right now. He has all the tools.
Jamire Calvin and Tulu Griffin - explosive potential every time they touch it.
Defense and Will Rogers stepped up when they needed to.
Unpopular statement: La Tech isn’t terrible. They are a veteran team with some nice P5 transfers.
Negatives:
O-line - same stuff from last year. Penalties, pressure, etc.
Will Rogers - had guys running open all day and couldn’t or wouldn’t pull the trigger. Enough has been said about his lack of arm strength, but I’ll tell you it looks worse in person than on tv. Balls hang up there a long time, and I’m not sure if he threw one spiral today.
Supposedly Marks and D Johnson were neck and neck. Nope. Sizable drop off.
The absence of Jordan Davis was noticeable.
Safeties are lacking.
Just sloppy play for two of the four quarters. Hope they can clean that up for next week, because if not it won’t be close.
