We have to bid on it. We bid on everything. NCAA. Big 12. World class arena.

If the city does not put in a bid soon I will be sorely disappointed.

Whether we get it or not we must bid.

There's something poetic that Karl Hess is crapping all over the semifinals with the two marquee programs. Multiple technicals assessed in first half. Clark is bleeding from mouth and he gets to stay in game. There have been at least 25 fouls called.

This league has to get a handle on the officiating. Good officiating doesn't mean calling every foot that slides an inch or every touch in the post. It does mean letting the game flow and letting players determine the outcome.

These refs have been an embarrassment. I think they've been to the monitor 5-6 times and called 25+ fouls

Cronin is such a POS. He wants Brimah thrown out because he doesn't want a fair game. The league should fine him, but they are afraid of his elf powers.
I knew you'd be all over that exchange. He got all over Brooks and my wife even felt bad for the kid because she could read Cronin's lips. He's a douche

It's crazy. I've never seen anything like that. Say what you will about Graham, the man has faith and did a lot for his guys. Cronin is out of control. And no one ever calls him on it.

What pushes me over my limit was that Cronin then called out the refs during the tv interview. If Haith did that, he'd sit out the next game. And Cronin was whining about Octavius Ellis, who no longer plays for them. He's nuts.

BTW playing Edmond North tonight in the 6A State Final on the CW Network (channel 7, 1007 HD on Cox).

I believe we've offered Jaycson Bereal 6'7 SF (class of 2018) for the Hornets. R.J. Fuqua (2017) for BTW just committed to ORU, as well. Bereal, along with Keyshawn Embery and Trey Hopkins all visited TU together in August.

I get that but we would not have anything in terms of events if we took that approach. You have to be loud and proud to get anywhere and do not play from a position of inferiority.

I'm really looking forward to see who we sign in November. That class will play when Igbanu and Magnay are Juniors and Seniors and so that should be a key one.

In other conference tourney action, longtime Rice coach Willis Wilson is looking to make his 1st NCAA tournament appearance in his 22nd year as a head coach. Not that anyone cares, I just remember him being at Rice forever. He currently coaches Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and they're up 2 on New Orleans early second half of Southland title game.

Same here. Based on their visit in August, I think the 3 listed above are high priorities; Embery, Hopkins, and Bereal. But I am interested in who else we're looking at

Bereal has a long way to go based on last night. The in- state schools missed big time on Marques Wilson from Edmond North.

Jacksonville State. New Orleans, Wichita State, SMU-UConn and perhaps Texas State will be auto bids. SMU-UConn loser and OSU at large. Illinois State looks to be a no.1 NIT (with the loss here probably what keeps them out of the NCAA). UH and UCF to NIT, Memphis probably not. San Diego State? That would be 1-7 or 2-7 vs. NCAA and 2-4 vs. NIT. Am I missing a team?

11 of the 17 losses to NCAA/NIT teams, but only 3 or 4 wins. I probably would have been happy with the outcome had I realized how tough the OCC schedule turned out.

Temple and UConn also finished below 500. UCF was the surprise. Memphis at 19-13 and Temple were the most underachieving teams.

Back on tournament location discussion, my favorite place has been Memphis. Their setup is just a cut above. Don't need a car to get around and the whole trip is fun. It's not that easy to get to for some schools, but easy enough for a number of them.

The qualifier is that the city of Memphis needs to support it and not run articles in the Commercial Appeal trashing the tournament, as they often did in C-USA. I get that they were awesome then, but I reckon it left a bad impression on other schools. One year they didn't even play the volume when they showed our school ad at the half of the tournament finals. Back then, it was a huge deal for TU to have a game on tv, especially CBS.

I would like to see it in New Orleans. Great tourist city, have it at the superdome and you can get there on the Canal Street trolley, best of all, no home crowd to contend with.

I didn't watch the whole game, but it didn't look like Bereal tried to score much at all. Just left it to the Senior, Fuqua, and other guards. Bereal has good size and looks to be great athlete. His defense is much further along. Not every player you sign is going to be a shooter/scorer. He reminded me of a slightly shorter version (1 inch) of Cincy's Gary Clark, just how he got up and down the court.

SMU slapping Cincy around today. Oompa Cronin looks like Willy Wonka punched him and told him to shut up

Then what's the point of even having it in an AAC city? Might as well have a neutral location at that point.

Until Tulane goes to the FF then NO is as good as a neutral location and it would attract some that wouldn't go to a tourney in a place like Hartford. I would like Vegas personally as it would be an easy trip for me but they are pretty loaded with tourneys. BTW, the Big West has theirs in Reno. Where would you put it?

Smoo coming to Tulsa on Friday as is Baylor. Good news in that if both win, should be plenty of fans still around all weekend. KU is coming as well. Miami and Izzo are coming too. Wonder if Wojcik will make a trip to T-town to support his former boss (LMAO)

I agree with Dallas, Memphis, Houston. Ease of travel especially during spring break season (not jacked up prices and crowds like Florida or New Orleans). Memphis is geographically toward the middle of the conference in addition to crowd support.

No way no how a neutral location.

Houston and Dallas have the added perks of wide ranges of alumni bases living and working there. You'd actually probably draw more Tulane fans here in Houston than Nola.

Tulsa Tulsa Tulsa. Don't bother me with other places unless Tulsa is in the rotation. Lots to do downtown now - it is my neighborhood. We need to share our great city with as many visitors as we can.

I am a home booster and after living a bit in Chicago and Atlanta, and spending tons of time in CA, I want to live no place but here. I will sing it from the mountain tops!
