That’s funny..I must’ve missed the part where anyone cared. I’m not sure about anyone else but I find it pretty sad that you have to come to the Nebraska board to defend your weak team and your “pretty good gigs” life..must be compensating for something. Laughing
I hope my team never drafts an Iowa player. They are all way overrated.
Interesting to see if Mertz gets to whip it around at Wisconsin or still 3 yards & a cloud of dust. Seems the kid doesn't need much play action to find guys open.
Ty Robinson was MIA in this game. He'll need a couple years in the weight room before he contributes here IMO.
Gotta disagree. He is already big and strong enough to contribute. Especially with our lack of great DEs.

Harder for defensive players to really shine in these all-star games.
This exhibition game isnt designed for any defensive player to make a mark except maybe CB or Safety. Its like 7 on 7 with the optical illusion of Offensive & Defensive linemen.
He had to play a lot of DT, not really built for the 4-3. With all the Sr’s on the DL, it would make sense for him to RS, but he just might be too good to keep off the field.
I guess that means Alabama is SCREWED with the #1 class.

Talent comes in many ways, shapes, and forms. Some come ready day 1, some is ready after a year or more. To each, their own.
Ty Robinson and Benhart both look raw to me. They’ll need to develop in the program like most linemen, but the ceiling still seems very high for both.
If they work hard this spring/summer they could ar least develop into serviceable backups this year.
Wandale being early enrollee will make him 100% ready to contribute day 1.
After NPG’s dumbass hit, I think he owes Wandale... committing to us should settle the debt nicely.

King is overrated.
Kittle only got the record, because he is the only player San Francisco has to throw to. He is not even close to being as talented as Kelsey.
I see Yanda get beat a ton. Not sure how he has ever made the pro bowl.
I know I get on my computer and automatically go to the Iowa fans page to see if anyone is talking about Nebraska.. NOT.. Sorry if I do not see a reason to do that. After watching him play today, I am really stoked that NU landed Wandale. That kid is going to be a headache for opposing Ds. Seems to instinctively know what angle to pursue and has really nice acceleration. So the question is whether JD plays one of the other WR spots with Wandale in the slot.
3rd season, it was B1G for Urban, James and nearly Paul.
Not so much for Jim.

Did anyone else catch the comment the TV announcers made that one of the dbs made about wanting to play in the SEC because they could get away with more"stuff" than other conferences. I immediately thought he was referring to pass interference. Maybe more....
Some poster mentioned that Benhart would start the first game at Right Tackle.. No way he beats out Farniok or James at either tackle, he will be a backup his first year and needs to get stronger and gain his weight back and I think he will start the year after and moving Farniok over at guard..
Doesn't matter. You won at home, with a last second FG...in Frost's 1st season, with players he and his staff didn't recruit. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is gonna get ugly for Iowa.
Actually he did flip the roster a little bit with 2AM, Washington, Mike Williams,Caleb Tanor and Cam Taylor but the rest of the 2018 class redshirted..
Half of Riley’s players have used up their eligibility or transfered..
Sometimes hard to tell from all-star games. I remember a HS basketball all-star game in which a dude with a mullet, wearing Chuck Taylors, made Bruce Chubbick (who had an underwhelming game) look pretty bad on a baseline drive/jump shot, by "sending it", big time. One of those two ended up in NU bball HOF.
We had no JD either, that was a huge piece missing that day..

Yep, there is no way they cover both JD and Stanley M. if they are both on the field. We win by 10 if both are playing.

Yeah sure, but it was a fairly typical year, where just a handful of true freshmen played (more than the 4-games that would burn their redshirt year). But point taken. We had some key players on the field that Frost and Co. recruited. None more important than AM.
Spielman would have helped Nebraska by him playing but Iowa couldn’t run the ball against the B1G all season and they had 266 yards on us... That is why Frost was amazed how much stronger Iowa was than us on the line of scrimmage, that is what he said we need to get fixed in the future...
