the knicks versus Bullets series was great; Earl against Clyde; DeBusschere versus Johnson; Bradley against Marin; and Reed versus Unseld -- you didn't drive into the paint the way they do today. That was true even thru the 80's.

Growing up we were all Clyde crazy. We tried to shoot like him and everyone wanted to wear number ten. Still remember the Clyde poster in my bedroom, right next to Julius and Joe Willie. We all got a pair of Pumas but they sucked so we went with Dr. J's Converse

Sorry, I just had a senior moment. I was thinking
of Calvin Murphy who went to Niagra. His mother and her 6 sisters were all Baton Twirlers.
In 8th grade he was National Champion in Baton Twirling. Sorry my brain sometimes plays tricks on me. He played for the San Diego/Houston Rockets. Shortest Hall of Famer
5ft 9 inch, Made the All Rookie team. Shortest
All Star also.
