I used to say that the 1996 Team was the Best of The Modern Era. I no longer believe that to be True. That “Modern Era of College Basketball” is gone. It is now firmly a bygone Era.

The play style has changed. Yet, that’s not why I feel this way. That 1996 Team could spread the floor and shoot with the best of today’s Teams.

This era has a different type of mental athlete.
More empowered? Yes
Maybe a little softer, as we 40 and up guys use the term ? Yes

You’ll never see a team of that 1996 (or 2015) talent stick around to gel together again. Primes are often not even reach in rookie NBA DEALS now.

Is this era worse? Maybe, Maybe Not

More fair for the athletes? Absolutely

It isn’t fair to offer 1 year scholarships and expect 3-4 year loyalty.

So my question is this.

Why not offer them more commitment?

Give Back their NIL, it was never ours.

Guarantee Scholarships for 4 years.

Reward Both Talent and Dedication.

Allow them to earn and LEARN.

As Our Beloved (and recently Embattled)

Just my thoughts after a Tough Season.
