Seems Rowdey might just might have turned the corner. In the last 6 games he hit a healthy .409 and raised his average 30 points.

Hatch on the other hand in the last 6 hit a frosty 0.083 and is one more unproductive AB from falling below the mendoza line. Ouch.

Everytime I watch Hatcher bat he is rolling over a little ground ball to the right side. The few solid knocks I have seen him get are sliced the opposite way as if he is late and that top hand hasn't rolled over yet.

I know we live in different era and it's okay to pull everything and strikeout alot, so long as the exit velocity is high... But this is where in the old days (90's) you would like to see a Hatcher make a concerted effort to hit everything toward left-center. Next thing you know, he's actually turning on those inside pitches and they are getting backspin and carrying into the right field bleachers.

As Keith Hernandez would say, he's about to be on the interstate. And that's not a good place for your every day first baseman with a healthy number of at-bats under his belt to be.

We are now at the halfway point of the regular season. At some point you gotta put somebody else out there to see what he can do. A first baseman hitting .200 just cannot continue.
