A solution to the problem would be if SEC teams refused to play Bama, due to the unfairness of the officiating. Just take the forfeit loss. With their talent, coaching and refs in their back pocket, teams will lose anyway. Think about it.

The solution is do away with conference officials. All officials would be NCAA officials and assigned to games by the NCAA.

Edit: Strict rules in place that no official who lives in the state of either school or has any personal or family ties to either school can officiate in the game.

Your edit is definitely the thing to do. The original statement would require a lot more traveling and expense, and officials possibly missing days at their regular jobs, since they're not full-time officials. I'm not even sure the NFL refs are full-time.

They should make them full time. We're talking about a billion $ business.

All SEC officials should be from British Columbia. If they are from the SEC footprint they are biased.

Steve Shaw has been running the “good old boy” network for some time now. A lot of these guys are legacies like Skelton. His dad’s bio says he was an official as well as played for Bama. My wife was on a flight several years ago with a guy who was an sec official from Arkansas whose dad was also an sec official and a lawyer. I am a strong conservative but I believe James Carville would do a better job as head of sec officials as Steve Shaw does. He could certainly break up the good old boy network.

The thing is why do other schools just don't get together and complain. It didn't matter to other schools this time but what if another school needed Bama to lose in order to win the SEC. It screw everyone and makes the game not fun to watch. I am sick and tired of Saban and Bama. I wish some news reporter would get piss and hit that SOB in the head with that damn coke bottle.
