Carefully optimistic but it's getting harder not to drink the koolaid
They have 3 games vs teams that are 'good", Michigan, PSU and USC.
Lost all those and sweep the rest and it will be like those early 90's teams. Nice record, fans "happy", everything okay.
NU just needs to stop losing games vs the losers of this conference. No more losing to Minny or Iowa or NW or Illinois and so on.
We used to say there was 9 wins built into the schedule, hell it is why some of you fans wanted Bo gone "even a monkey could win 9 games at NU"

This is the step forward I’m looking for. Quit f¥€#ing giving game after game away by being the stupidest team in America. Execute simple plays consistently and we win 9 games. Then build on that to go further.
You know what sucks is... Nebraska is one of the losers of this conference. I never thought I'd see the day we sucked.

No kidding and for no reason.
NU, with the exception of having fertile recruiting ground which really is not as important as it once was, is basically the gold standard with money, fans, facilities.

That’s Pelini era results. And I would be happy short term to get back to that level.
This conference is so much better now than it was during Pelini's tenure. 9 wins (pre bowl) this season would be a huge step for this program.
Ehhh, I mean, it has more teams. USC and Oregon do better, that is for sure.
But Wisky is horrible now. NW is horrible. RU and MD are still horrible. Minny is better. Jury is out on IU and UI. MSU is horrible PU might be one of the worst teams in the country. Iowa is horrible.
I hate Iowa as much as any Nebraska fan but you look at those linemen they punch out and you have to admit they are doing something right. Now if Nebraska can get back to developing offensive linemen like the linemen Nebraska developed during it's championship years we will be playing for titles, I think they can.
Now our staff is starting to develop linemen properly, you mix that with the skill players players we are bringing in then it's just a matter of time until our fortunes turn for the better.
For far to long our young true freshmen, redshirt freshmen OL were forced to play because we were so thin and weak at one of the most important positions, no longer.
We are starting to see some success on the offensive line but we're not completely there yet, but we're getting there. jmo

What I want to see most is this team no longer giving games away but rather taking games away.

I swear, in a way, it's just becoming more and more of a clown show anymore.. Win the off season with hype for 9 months, and agonize the 3 month season, then back to the hype machine again..

It is August, so no surprise the Rhule-Aid is flowing. We've not had a winning conference record since 2016, with 3-6 being the typical outcome. Above 0.500 in conference is what I'm hoping for this year.
Win conference games going away. It shouldn't even be close late in the 4th against half our schedule.
I'll see your 6 & 6 and raise you 7 & 5. The way Nebraska finished last year didn't exactly give me a lot of hope, and if the trends continue with winnable games turning to losses, then there will be some serious grumbling.
I hope the players were blowing up their workouts from the end of spring to these practices today. I keep parroting what the players did 31 years ago, what they put themselves through to make the season they had a reality. If today's players put themselves through that kind of hell, then I'd say it will pay off. We shall see. 1:16
Iowa picked up a better QB in the portal. Gronowski could make them a much better offense.
