He heard wrong. The Marrow part was just a pipe dream from UofL. Kenny Payne and Dewayne Peevy are possibilities for coach and AD.
Thanks for the clarification. He texted me and then I called him to verify and that's what he told me. I hope you are right and he simply misunderstood. Marrow at LOU would be bizarre !!

Yeah, I can see Payne/Peevy but not Marrow. As much as I like laughing at UofL <===[laughing]...even those blockheads know they need to fix BB first. They have a FB coach that can win enough games for another season...

Imagine if Peevy/Payne kill it at Louisville and Cal goes to hang it up in 2-5 years. Mitch won't be around much longer either...he'll be pushing 70 when his latest contract ends.

Lol, what do you think would happen then?

Yeah who has the flight plan for Kenny? Thought we had A Team kinda stalkers when it came to important stuff like this.

Im tired of the programs being connected. That **** started with Pitino and hasnt died since. I would swap Barnhart for Peevy tomorrow. It’ll piss me off to see him at Louisville.

Payne I don’t care about. Never thought he was a very good head guy when he took over games. Don’t see him doing well as a head coach. He seems like a classic lifetime number 2 guy. I don’t even think he feels comfortable being in charge. Didn’t seem like it.

UK fans naming him as a possibility to replace Cal (former UL player) pissed me off too. No way.

I hope Louisville hired Payne and stays away from Peevy. I believe a Pearl / Peevy agreement would be very bad for Kentucky over the next 10 years.

What are you talking about Kenny Payne has been a fine coach. Everywhere he’s been has had success matter of fact we missed him last year.

That said another power program would be hiring a first time head coach. It’s a trend I like seeing as long as we don’t do it.

There’s nothing “bizarre” about the Payne rumor at all. I could very easily see that happening.

A friend of mine told me that he heard on KSR radio today, via DeWayne Peevy:

Kenny Payne and Vince Marrow to Louisville are legit possibilities ...

Seems really out there, but just what he told me.
As wacky as that sounds marrow coaching BB and KP head fb coach ? SMH LOL

Even Louisville isn't dumb enough to hire Cream. I can't imagine he would get any other Division 1 school ranked above 250. I really hope Peevy doesn't go to UL.

I see the U6 job, as a stepping stone for KP, to maybe replace Cal at some point. I know they are is alma mater, but still how could he turn down "THE" pinnacle of college basketball coaching jobs, unless he just doesn't want the crazy stress that comes with it (which he has seen first hand).

Why do people seem to be so worried about the possibility of Kenny Payne going back to UL? Who cares. The guy has never been a head coach anywhere for a reason. I'm not saying he doesn't have redeeming qualities or isn't a good coach. But none of us has any idea what kind of head coach he would be. He might be great, he might be terrible.

The Marrow thing is a pipe dream. Stoops will do whatever he has to do to keep him on staff. Again, another guy with no head coaching experience. Hell, he's never even been a coordinator. He's a great recruiter but would be a major risk as a head coach.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that Louisville takes the approach that any coach they hire will be there to ride it out during sanctions and then they will re-evaluate after that.

Also, Payne isn't going anywhere, he most likely won't be on any short list to be a head coach at any school of consequence, so why rush it? I'd think outside the box - Luke Walton for example, see what else comes up

Because I HATE HATE HATE u6 and I really like KP. Id hate to have to start hating him. Plus, he’d probably be able to steal the Wagner kid from us.

Lol Marrow is much more of a salesman than a football coach. Love him, but he’s not even getting MAC head coaching interviews. UofL hiring him as head coach would be insane.

If UL even bothered making a run at big dawg, it would forever solidify their little brother status.

It's hilarious and pathetic how they do notice but pine over our coaches.

If Payne got UL (his alma mater) to where he would need to get them to for UK to try and get him, he'd be dumb as hell to leave there.

I think they should give a shot to that assistant that is taking over for mack. He’s young, black and already in place.
