Same here. I am renewing seats regardless. Just hate to see the most unique thing in college baseball disappear.

I am all for the new grandstands but the generic outfield just doesn't fly. And anyone who doesn't think the new outfield will not be generic in a few years is completely delusional.

And I think a place for students should be built in right field.

A good architect could include the junky rigs in the new stadium.

And the safety issue is beyond silly. Just shoot all the lawyers.

Wait........ What?

ETA: let's walk through this again. I don't consider the new rendering problematic, therefore, how can I offer a solution? I was unhappy with the idea or removing the rigs at first but the new design has grown on me. Sounds more like its a problem to you.

Also, I'd be willing to bet that the fanbase isn't as divided as you think. There is a vocal minority against the change to the LFL, and understandably so, but like its been mentioned several times in this thread, the issue has been brought before the fans and focus groups by the AD and it obviously was met with favorable reviews.

Forgive me if my post was whiny, bratty or dumb in any way.

I'm with J-Dawg. What the hell are you even talking about anymore? Clueless rants? Stop being a whiney brat complainer? You sound like you're arguing to yourself.

Id be willing to bet it is. If you can't see there is a divide I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't have LFL spot nor want one. I think it's something unique that was grandfathered in and cannot be repeated this day in age. So instead of recognizing that, we rush to change it to something that CAN be replicated in 2015 and beyond.

I've read all I can here of people that think LFL supporters want to keep the whole damn thing exactly the way it is now and that's not what I've seen anyone say. You are saying that and it's annoying as ****.

No school will ever allow originally created fixtures by fans in the outfield ever again. It's that simple. LFL is an exception and can be made better than the current renderings and better than what anyone could replicate in the future.

That explain it whiney brat complainer?

I'm going to get what I want in the end. So what do I have to whine about?

Where did I say I like it better? I said it will be better. And it will be, regardless of what you think.

Why do you hate the one thing responsible for the best atmosphere in college baseball?

Simple question....simple answer will suffice.

From memory, didn't LSU's athletic director even say how impressive the new stadium will be? I seem to recall after Stricklin released the renderings Joe Alleva said Mississippi State had the benefit of "going last" when it came to stadium renovations, and that nobody would be able to touch the new Dudy Noble for 20 years or so.

Some folks need to go back and read the press clippings from when the new stadium was announced. It's going to be the "Jerry's World" of college baseball, so get your asses on board people.

I don't hate it all. It's been an awesome part of our tradition for decades. I have celebrated it at every opportunity. But it is changing whether you like it or not, so you can either get on board, embrace the change, or you can complain and be angry about it. That choice is yours, I have made mine. You saying I hate the lounge is like saying I hate VCRs or station wagons. They were great in their time, but times change, either adapt or perish.

You people saying the rigs are what have made the Left Field Lounge special are saying that we could replace all the State fans out there with Ole Miss fans and we'd have the same atmosphere.

Make them permanent, Mr. Rocket Scientist.

Uh yeah, that's exactly what they're doing- taking the old LFL and replacing them with permanent structures. That's exactly what I want, so it sounds like we're in agreement.

Your whole stance on this is so far beyond confusing... You say that we should build the grandstand and concourse around the current LFL as is. Then you come back and say that you actually want permanent structures out there? Well great, because that's what I want, that's what is in the design, and that's exactly what we're going to get.

So what is the problem? Because right now you're just going off on incoherent rants calling everyone illogical whiny bitches. What exactly do you want out of LFL, because from what I can gather it seems like you disagree with the designs released by the school but still want permanent structures out there...?

Without question, in 10 years everyone will have power in the outfield with little park style grills embedded in the concrete and out stadium will absolutely be cookie cutter at that point. No one can replicate what's currently there.

Some of you people really need longer vision.

In 10 years, we will be doing PSLs again, to raise another immediate $10-15 million, and basically fund renovations and improvements into perpetuity every decade to keep us on top of the heap until the formula for how all this works eventually changes. That is the beauty of the new setup that a particular section will always refuse to see. This park and setup secures the next generation of our stadium and traditions. It ensures our kids will grow up knowing Mississippi State as the Joneses when it comes to college baseball facilities. The one thing in life that we can honestly puff out or chest about as a university and call ourselves the best at. It ensures they will know the tradition of the LFL and outfield tailgate.

But really -- "we" are the ones than need "vision". While you still view LFL at Dudy Noble as some spectacular experience that in reality is equal to the outfield at Swayze on its best day. Different. Great. So is the boys' setup up the road. And brings in less $$ than Swayze and less than 1/3 of the $$ that Alex Box does(which isn't actually very far from our potential and soon to be realized revenue IMO).

It kills me how little actual perspective our fanbase is willing to have. While accusing those that support the maximization of our potential and minimalization of our risk of all kinds of shenanigans -- while in reality that crowd is simply all in on us doing whatever and sacrificing whatever it takes to win.

The incoming class is good enough to be the lynch pin to bring us our first national title. I truly believe that. I don't care if anyone thinks that's ridiculous and disagrees. That's their right. I think it's good enough that if things fall right, we are in Omaha next year with 40% of the contributors being true freshmen that go back and bring it home 2 years later. That may be off the wall -- but my whole life is predicated around practicality. It's a conscious decision to allow sports to be my escape from that princie.
