Yikes it says he was passing several vehicles. I hope he wasn't driving carelessly. Also, I hope he has a speedy recovery. It says he hit another car head-on and came out with non life-threatening injuries ... consider that a second chance from God, young man.

According to this story, he was passing 3 vehicles in a no passing zone. Thankful that everyone involved is alive, and hoping for speedy recoveries for all. It could have been a lot worse.

Assuming the account is true, I will pray for him, but I pray for innocent victims first.
From the report I saw, the other driver was ok. His buddy was very banged up though. A thoroughly dumb move by AJ. He's lucky no one is dead.

How Christian of you. I’m sure you’ve never sped, ran a red light, or passed someone in a no-pass zone.
I am not a Christian -- I have never had a speeding ticket or passed in a no pass zone -- I have one moving violation in 45 years of driving and that was for not coming to a full stop before a right on red a couple of decades ago.

I don't hold people to that standard, but passing three cars in a no passing zone where there is no visibility because you are cresting a hill is NOT the typical moving violation -- it is like shooting a gun into a dark room when you don't know whether or not there are people inside.

I would also wager that most drivers have NOT ever made such an egregious maneuver. And based on my reading driver's abstracts as frequently as I do for my job, the ones that do it, do it on a regular basis. If you do this kind of thing, you should just stay the hell off the road.

So once again, while everyone should feel sorry for him, if the fact are as reported, those feelings should come second to the feelings of relief that no innocent person was seriously harmed by his actions.

I'm Christian. Have never run a red light or passed in a no-passing zone. But if I ever try passing three cars in a no-passing zone while approaching the crest of a hill, crash head-on into someone, and nearly kill my passenger, I'll know to come to you for absolution.
