After two games in the Bahamas, it looks like Mincy, Bieliauskas, Heide, and Necas will be starters. I really like the game Necas had yesterday against Bahamas. I think Assemian, Polk and Lopez did well with their playing time.

What was fhe competition like? And did you get any feel for the team as conpared to last year?

I know its a very small sample size. Im just looking for first impressions.

I am no basketball expert, but I will offer an opinion.

During the 2024-25 season you could always rely on Collin Murry Boyles and during the 2025-26 season you could depend on Meechie Johnson, but it is not known at this point if South Carolina has that one person you can bank on.

I think South Carolina will be better around rim scoring and protecting rim on the other side of the court.

Last season you had Meechie and Knox and this season you have Mincy but who will be that other person. Marcus Johnson did not play at all during this trip due to injury so it is unknown to me how he can contribute this season.

To me, it is clear that Blakeney is here for defense ability.

As far the competition, I think the smaller schools Woffard, Furman, Costal Carolina, College of Charleston would easily beat Victoria and the Bahamas national team,

You couldn't count on Meechie. He had some good games and some bad games. You are only remembering the good games and/or highlights. We needed him as a team leader, but he struggled to make good decisions when the game was on the line. Ohio State is not a great team. There's a reason he struggled for PT there.
