1st: The turning point of the game was OSU's conversion on 3rd and 20. We are the only school, at any level from elementary to the pros, who would not blitz in that circumstance to force a quick underneath throw. Won't even get into the refusal to blitz more than once a series and never on back to back downs. Absolutely horrible coaching on the defensive side tonight.

2nd: Part of that was the inability of our offensive coordinator. When things are going well and the defense is doing what we expect them to do, Spavital can get in a groove. When the defense starts making changes, Spavital can't adjust. Hence, for about 5 series to open the second half, we didn't do anything and put the defense in a bad hole being on the field so much.

3rd: Think about this: We have a Heisman trophy contending QB, 4 running backs with decent skills, an All B12 tackle, another tackle that is probably second team, a couple of great tight ends, and 4 or 5 fantastic receivers of which at least a couple will be playing on Sunday's next year and we can't win this conference with that? That's not even counting the defense. And, this is a down year with about 7 teams bringing in new QB's and skill players and we still can't win it?

4th: I don't think this crew can ever win it. With this talent you can't win it, what chance do we have in a typical year? I feel its time to start looking for replacements. I know, I know, you can't fire a coach after 9 wins. Well, we can and have before. The bar was set about 9 years ago. Time to start the process...
