Steve is going nowhere. This is his destination job. The talk in some places about Syracuse are absurd. This team was built from the bottom up and is not patchwork like the Hughes and Duncan teams. It should Dance this year and will start at Top 25 next year. The refs had nothing to do with today. Rutgers lost by 3 on the road in a tough building with no Geo, not much Johnson and a virtual no show by McConnell. The schedule is very favorable with one Michigan State and no Michigan road game. The pieces are there for the foreseeable future. The next step is to get a Cliff or a Trey Patterson and make a national recruiting statement.

wow blast from the past, good to see you here, post more

I dont see how Cuse is even a better job than RU..why would Pike want to go that pressure, doesnt seem like that type of guy plus he would have to win immediately.

I agree we need that one top recruit to finally sign on

Long time, no see.

I think another destination job for any guy is his alma mater but I dont think uconn is an issue until after SP has established a sustained program and his legacy here.

I am sure getting more quality players helps, either one of Cliff or Jaden Jones or Trey Patterson would be tremendous.

The euphemism for "we're better and everyone should want to be a part of us because we're cool" is "tradition."
But that kind of "tradition" works in recruiting so I will say "easier to recruit to Syracuse"

But with probably just as much money, better job security, closer to talent, I don't know if it's enough of a step up to get him to move. Let's hope things go well enough that he'd be on their short list.

I agree we just need that first one to sign and I think it will open up the floodgates but we still need Pikell kind of guys and if we can just get A 3 POINT SHOOTER we are in our way to being a tournament team every year!!!!

At the moment we are better than Syracuse and are in the # 1 league in the country. Steve is from Connecticut and he loves it at RU. I doubt he will go anywhere as we are still improving and can become a major force in college basketball. We just need to keep him happy.

What Rutgers needs more than anything is consistent scoring from multiple players. What fans have seen so far at home games is that multiple players have been double digit scorers while on the road except for Nebraska ,the offense really has a hard time scoring. There are very few sure wins on the remaining schedule. As we saw in the Illinois game defense can keep the team in the game but the lack of go to scorers was missing except for Young.Nobody knows what will happen in the remaining 16 league games but I do know the home court advantage must result in wins if Rutgers wants to achieve a NCAA bid. There is a very small margin for error.
