Golden State better watchout cuz Davis will shutdown Bogut. Warriors aint that great without Bogut in there. I expect Davis to put up crazy numbers....,10 blocks, 45 points,15 rebounds n game 1. They will know about Anthony before these playoffs finish. Lets see what A.D. can do with the title on the line.

I like your optimism. But 10 blocks is A LOT!

They are letting Tyreke Evans run the point (bringing Jru Holiday off the bench) and he actually had 11 assists last night.

the 2-2-1-1-1 format is interesting for the Pelicans. I think this will be their first Thursday home game all season - weird - and their record for playing at home on Saturdays this year is 1-3. If they manage the game 6 that will be on a Friday. Pelicans have an insane record for home games played on Fridays this year, like 9-1 or something.

As much as I AD I fully expect them to go home after maybe one win. Too much firepower on the Warriors!

Pelicans have some good things going on, good set of guards, not complete chumps. I expect at least one win. The hell the warriors and all the bandwagon fans..

Yep, AD will shut down Bogut, but Bogut ain't the problem. Who's shutting down Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Iguadala?

Davis is great, but NO is not a real smart team. They may compete in 1 of the first 2 games in Oakland, but I doubt it. Even if they do, I don't expect a win.

Game 3 is the game for them. With a competitive Game 4.

This series smells like "Warriors in 5", but it is good for AD to be in the play-offs, and should lead to some more national telecasts (Thursday/Sunday) next season.

Predict 1 win. AD is incredible, but his supporting cast is very suspect. Meanwhile Golden State is a bit overrated, but still a very good team.

If Jrue Holiday comes back from injury and can pester Curry on D, then the Pelicans might win two games.

Warriors win the series 4-1. Just too much for Davis and the Pelicans at this point

Best player on the floor is Anthony Davis and he will prove it. He is good enough to get this to a game 7. Watch and see. He will shutdown their inside game. Its a good matchup for DAVIS against their frontline. Its laughable to me. He will destroy them inside on both ends. He will average 35, 14, 5 blocks, 4 assists, 3 steals for the series.

Spoken like someone who hasn't watched Golden State all year. Bogus isn't a huge factor for them offensively, so AD "shutting him down" means nothing. I expect Golden State to have a field day, even with AD putting up numbers.

The series I most look forward to watching. GS is just a fun team to watch with their electric backcourt. AD will make it an even more exciting series.

I don't give NO much of a chance...I' see them getting 1 game, maybe 2, but GS definitely moves on.

AD should be applauded for getting NO back to the postseason. Great season for him!!

The Warriors are 11-5 without Bogut in the lineup. They'll be just fine if Bogut's presence is negated by Davis.

I'm a huge fan of Anthony Davis but I'll be surprised if the Pelicans win a game. The Warriors are well rested, focused, and DEEP. Bogut is the 5th offensive option on the W's starting 5 (his biggest strengths are defense and passing), and their bench with Iggy, Speights, Livingston, David Lee and Barbosa. Plus Ezeli is back and playing well.

If you haven't watched much of GS during the season this series will be a great one to watch them go to work. They're kinda filthy. Curry's game has elevated to an 'oh ****' level. He's the best shooter off the dribble to ever play the game. The W's spacing is unreal since they have two guys that can drain 3's from 25+ feet with insane ease.

Their only weakness (and it isn't much of a weakness) is bruising, physical play and the Pelicans don't have enough size with skill outside of Davis to exploit that.

My guess is Warriors in 5 with the Pelicans winning a close game 3.

Shutting down Bogut won't make much a difference, his only the 5th scoring option in their starting lineup, and they have better scoring options coming off the bench. He's only averaging 6.3 points a game, which is 9th on the team. If you go by points per 48 minutes, he ranks no better than 10th.

If the Pelicans are shutting down Andrew Bogut it would pretty much be what is expected most nights out for Golden State.

Bogut is in the starting lineup because he happens to be very good at defense, rebounding, and shot blocking.

Bogut isn't there to score ... he's an NBA All-Defensive Team caliber guy. Between him, Ezeli and Green ... best post defense in the NBA.

Points are nice, but that's the secret sauce for Golden State.

Bluegrass79's predictions. Davis is damn good but no way he averages 35 and 14 for any two games against Golden State, much less the whole series.

Golden State is stacked; it's not just about Curry and Thompson. They have Green, Iggy, Speights, Bogut, and Lee, all whom would start for other NBA teams. On paper, they should be the best team. They have been one of the healthiest teams this season. However, the teams that would quit when GS made a run, will punch back in the playoffs. That said, the only team who could beat them in the West is the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs took two out of three (two of those games were @ Golden State; they split). The Cavs could beat them, but they won't play until the Finals. Golden State in 5, maybe 6.

Playoffs are a different level v. regular season---NOLA not experienced... maybe one win...but I could also see a Warrior sweep.

Green, Speights, Bogut, and Lee? Garbage compared to Davis. I don't respect the warriors inside post game at all. Two gators, a Ute, and a spartan ain't stopping A.D.
Hell not one of those 4 even slightly scares me.

I know you're not attempting to be reasonable here, but I'd guess Ezeli sees the most time against Davis.

Kind of a fun matchup from a UK fan perspective, since when we last saw it Ezeli was outplaying Davis in the 2012 SEC Tournament final. Didn't see that much.

They stopped everyone else this year.

NBA defense is usually a team thing. It's great that AD can fly around the court swatting shots, but the truth is, the Pelicans' D sucked this year. OTOH, the Warriors were #1 in FG% D, #3 in forcing TO's, and #1 by a mile in scoring differential. That doesn't happen by accident. You can scoff all you want at the Warriors' frontcourt, but those guys know how to guard people, especially in combination with the lengthy wing players they have in Barnes, Iguodala and Thompson.

Still, AD probably will go off. No one's really found a way to slow him down yet. And it probably won't matter, as the Pelicans will be lucky to win more than 1 game.

The best thing any team can do against New Orleans is to guard Davis one-on-one as tough as you can and then concentrate on shutting down the rest.

I understand now. You're not serious.

Should be a fun, lopsided series with Davis on full display. I expect him to shine and his teammates to fall flat while the Ws roll.

Yep, the West winning, 67-15, Warriors are a sham of a team and not to be respected. You're either lonely or just wanting to start a fight out of boredom. Either way, it's very clear you have no clue wtf you're talking about. RAH RAH AD RAH RAH!!!

Warriors in 5.

AD will have monster numbers in high scoring affairs each game, but they will only win a game. 2 would be a near miracle IMO.

GS just does not lose at home, and I'm assuming very rarely do they lose 2 in a row since they lost 15 all season so chances are NO is going back to GS down 3-1.

Well damn I hope I'm right lol. Remember the Sonics lost to the Nuggets in the 90's. A legit shotblocker can spur an upset! Let's go Pelicans!

There was an article about Pelicans versus warrior on ESPN I think.

Davis causes major issue to their offense at least in the two game they played.

With that said. Warrior in 5-6.

If I find it again I'll link it.

Anthony Davis is the man my friend. His PER almost beat Wilt Chamberlains record. They wont score in the post. Bogut wont score on him, David Lee? Nope.

Obviously like AD but I'm rooting for the Warriors to win this whole thing. Big Steph Curry fan. Tons of fun watching that team play.
