Vegas Tacos on upper deck of west side is awful on the service. Stayed in line from 4 minutes into 2nd quarter to 5 minutes into halftime. It was 10-15 in front of me when I got in line.

Mostly they were just slow, but some of the problem was two girls that tried to use 3 different cards, and all were evidently declined.

Everything should be set up as those new markets- grab whatever you want and go. Should never have to tell someone your order again.

All lines were awful. Gave up on getting nachos. Didn't buy one freaking thing due to the lines.

This is why I always make sure I am well fed and hydrated (and sometimes bring in my own snacks and water) before the game. To me it is silly to drive for hours to attend a game, and of course lay out the money for tickets and other expenses, just to wind up missing a good portion of the game to get a damn hot dog, taco, nachos, pretzels or whatever. But to each his own.

Worker shortage causes football rivals to join forces off the field

MSU athletics director John Cohen said his department had lined up 184 workers between parking jobs and stadium tasks. A "significant" number of those workers were no-shows on game day.
Ole Miss athletics director Keith Carter said 50 percent of people lined up to work concessions for the Rebels' home opener against Austin Peay on Sept. 11 were no-shows.

The state's two conference rivals are working together to provide their fans with the best possible game-day experiences even amid a shortage of workers. One of those ways is to share available workers when possible.

Concur with this, before club seating we always had the family well fed prior to the game. People have complained about concessions for as long as I can remember.

We were in the East side Club yesterday. They had brunch items out till 11 but overall I didn't think the food was that great. I understand when you're cooking that much food for that many people the quality is going to suffer a little but I thought it could have been better.

I do agree with you on this. However, I don’t remember another time when I thought the food was lacking.

As I have said before, the solution is nacho cannons. Make it rain, Cohenz!!!

The job for running concessions has been listed on job sites for many months. It isn't a university job. Contractor based. Seems like I remember that the job was listed a couple years ago also.

There must be an underlying issue why this job and others in concessions remain open all the time.

Agree.

The solution to avoiding a long line at the concession stand? Eat/drink before you get to the game, and don't get in the line.

Is that not obvious to a person having common sense?

But those market lines move fast. I walked over to the one on the northeast side, was a long line but went fast.

It was just over 25 minutes total from when we left our seats in section 6 at the beginning of halftime, till we sat back down. We're at the top of section 6 so walked up and down the ramps. Stood there for a while in the shade & breeze to cool off. Walked around to the east side to check out the food trucks, stopped by the bathrooms, said 17 it to the food trucks, went thru the market line around section 19, burger - hotdogs - chips - drinks, then walked back to our seats.

Missed the LSU touchdown to start 2nd half, but if we hadn't taken our time walking around & chilling on the ramps & looking for food trucks we could have easily gotten back to our seats before 2nd half kickoff.

I isn't have any issues with concessions and I went to the very one in question more than one because my son seemingly wanted one of everything on the menu at various times. I was never in line more than 5 minutes and they were as polite as they could be.

Semi-related to concessions. Do people still walk around hawking stuff (20 oz, popcorn, cotton candy, etc.)? I usually only attend 2-3 games a year (none in 2020). And I can't recall seeing even the coke person in a while.

I'm assuming if they've stopped that practice then there's no chance someone's walking around with beer.

The job is for about 8 hours a day, 2 days a month for 3 months and pays about $10/hr. Many of the people who sign up for one of those jobs do so only because they need a little extra cash that weekend and have no intention of working every game. People who are willing to take on such a job often have transportation issues, child care issues, etc.

I've seen them come thru with drinks and the specialty popcorn but not very often - and seems like it's only been late in the game. Guess just trying to get rid of stuff or after the concessions are closed.

Getting anything to eat or drink at the games has just become a cluster. I know they are shorthanded but on top of having to sit in the direct September sun for 2 of our 3 home games (thanks TV network partners), we get the added pleasure of ridiculously long lines to get anything at the concessions. And they wonder why folks would rather sit in their living room watching on HDTV only having to walk to the fridge to get something to eat or drink? Gameday experience this season so far has not been very good at the stadium. Needing a miracle to beat La Tech and losing to LSU because of our own mistakes doesn't help either. I guess if you win enough you can put up with more negative things going on with the stadium experience.

I don't get the deal with concessions. I'm convinced that people go to games just to go to the concession stand. The same people crawl over me three or four times a game to go buy **** at the concession stand, missing about 40% of the game and causing me to miss about 10% of it.

If it's just about getting something cold to drink, you don't have to stand in a long-*** line to do that. There are other options in the stadium.

Bold suggestion: I think they need to allow us all to bring in a cooler. Similar to a NASCAR race. Limits on size of course. Hell, I’ll even pay $20 bucks to bring my own crap in.

If you can’t get the job done because of issues that are out of your control(labor issues, COVID, etc), you have to allow the people to serve themselves.

I spent 11 minutes of game clock, down below the stadium getting a few drinks. That’s just unacceptable.

Probably pay. That and getting people to show up for work is probably hell.

At the game Saturday, I brought in some trail mix in a baggie and two packs of nabs, all of which I could easily get in my shorts pockets, plus a bottled water. Of course, I didn't have a whole family to feed, which helped.

Pretty sure one of the DBs that ran into each other in the LSU game have a concession, based on the concession protocol
