Nice piece. I see he's gotten a massive pay raise from what the Bears were paying him to what Frost is. Therefore, he must be a diamond that no one else noticed except Frost. So glad we will have new OL that will be greatly improved!

It's also $500K less than the loser we had last 4 years.. And most times when you get a promotion/new job your salary goes up, unless you're a moron..

Getting push and moving the LOS wears out a D over time. I like old school football. SOHusker11 is dead on. (sorry about the edit)

One nugget I got from that Big Red Wrapup special was that Raiola was up in the booth for the Chicago Bears. Said he was one of the best at that role. Could be a great help on gameday for Whipple and Frost.

Also like that they are adding a second pair of eyes in Aaron Coeling to help Raiola since that is a big position group. I think he will be a GA? Not sure which of the original GA's is leaving if that is the case.

I love the moves we've made with our staff including bringing back one of Callahan's recruiting support staff. I just hope we can win enough games going forward to keep them in place for a long time.

This is why I think Raiola could be a genius, going from $15 / hour to $325k /year! Definitely not a moron.

And leaving Chicago right before they changed head coaches is excellent timing. The raise and the promotion to OL coach instead of assistant OL coach is also nice.

If you only you were as intelligent as him....or a fraction of the intelligence of most other Husker Board posters......Winking
Wow, glad i came to the right place. This board is chalk full of intelligent people, I'm looking forward to learning from such smart people like yourself.

One of the better moves Frost made or was forced to make was hiring a new OL coach. You can't have offensive linemen play the style Austin had them playing and have success in the BIG it just doesn't fit. Football is about physically forcing your will on others it has always been that way especially in the trenches.

We can only hope these hires work out. Dipshits on this board love to jerk off to every hire, and claim that they are solid hires when actually none of them have worked out the last 20 years.
Call me skeptical until we actually start winning 10+ games a year… or is the bar at just 6 a year now?

well i think the bar could be 3 a year now, but that's ok, we will still love and support the huskers and coach Frost no matter what. Eventually coach Frost will get to a 10+ win year. So always remember no matter how bad it gets, that a 10+ win year will still be in the future to look forward too.

Hope he does well, it would be great to have a competent to good offensive line again. It's been so frustrating watching poor line play. Feels like you're always at a significant disadvantage and need to execute the plays perfectly for success. A better offensive line gives you a little bit bigger room for error. Based on the last half decade of Nebraska football, we need as much room for error as possible šŸ˜‚

I won’t lie, I would have preferred the second coming of Billy C for OL coach (i.e. more proven), but still hoping for the best.

Everyone here knows how critical it is to get the OL performing at a more acceptable level.

We don’t know that he was making $15/hour, cut it out…

The Good Lord gave you two eyes and two ears and only one mouth for a reason, so you can watch and listen twice as much as you speak. Unfortunately He kept the plan for 10 digits on the hands, sadly that has led to people typing nonsense at 10 times the rate they should.

But I commend you on your plan to learn from smart people like myself and Dingle

drubendall, What toilet did this poster jump out of ?
I'm okay with one thread where fans criticize a new coach. But after a while people need to give it a break. Dude hasn't even coached a practice yet much less a game. 😫.

To be fair Austin and Raiola both really had no track record of being a good OL coach....we will see how it plays out but GA was cheeks. Can only be an upgrade imo

The bar is most certainly only six wins now.
Heck, you could argue three wins.

Husker fans have definitely lowered expectations, and I’m afraid we’re going to be stuck in Frost purgatory after ā€œHe turned it around and won 7 games omg!ā€ this year despite the pud schedule.
