We all know it's coming.
Brown will be marched out as a starter sometime this season.

Why?We all know it's coming.

An injury prone starting quarterback who struggles with field vision and passing. Why?
Well we went through 3 last year.We all know it's coming.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Gronowski just yet, but there certainly are a lot of reasons to be concerned. We'll see how he does Saturday. I don't even think we have to win for him to keep the job, but if we lose it can't be his fault. If he looks good on the few pass plays we run then I will breath a little easier. I think this next game is actually a lot of pressure on the offensive line. If Iowa can run the ball against ISU then they should be able to run the ball against just about anyone on their schedule this year (not sure about PSU, but we'll see). If we can run the ball against anyone then the pressure to throw the ball isn't nearly as high.We all know it's coming.

Injury prone? I'm almost certain that isn't accurate. An injury prone starting quarterback who struggles with field vision and passing.
History shows Kirk is stubborn about switching QBs until it becomes an emergency and then it's usually "split duties" for the rest of the season
We've seen this story before.
if we beat isu, fpi says 97.5% chanceSo, CFP still happening or no????
You may not mean this but any time I see someone complain about a qb running all I can imagine is the same complaint in reverse when any of the multitude of cement shoe players have stood still and gotten rocked. I get not wanting the qb to be solely a runner, but if it's effective...why not? Especially if the arm is in fact a noodle. Scratch where it itches and all that.Too many QB runs. MG is going to take some big hits in conference. He'll get knocked out.
The reason for the waffling is simple, most iowa fans struggle with reality. I would take a true dual threat QB any day of the week over a statue. I’d take a QB that was a better runner than passer over a pocket passer only. The college game has not changed at the QB position that much over the years and there are very few QBs in college that can win at a high level as a pocket passer without elite (tOSU and USC level elite) WRs. iowa’s best chance to win Saturday would be to play straight up and keep it close the first half, then punt every first down on offense in the second half and hope that ISU screws up.You may not mean this but any time I see someone complain about a qb running all I can imagine is the same complaint in reverse when any of the multitude of cement shoe players have stood still and gotten rocked. Of course a mobile QB is desirable, that's a real plus with MG. Nobody is complaining or waffling. Just pointing out that a lot of called runs exposes your QB to big hits. You may not mean this but any time I see someone complain about a qb running all I can imagine is the same complaint in reverse when any of the multitude of cement shoe players have stood still and gotten rocked. Probably. At this point I'd put the odds at around 70% that it happens at some point. He won't survive the season without injury running 11 times per game in the B1G. Of that I'm fairly certain. We all know it's coming.

If he can't throw he has to run. He won't survive the season, but if that's all he can do you have to utilize it while he's out there. You may not mean this but any time I see someone complain about a qb running all I can imagine is the same complaint in reverse when any of the multitude of cement shoe players have stood still and gotten rocked. You forgot to say the mandatory "read better".Injury prone? I'm almost certain that isn't accurate.
Struggles with field vision and passing? Based on a few plays in a new system while coming off surgery?
