Switched over to OU /UTEP game. Noticed 913 on UTEP helmets. The area code for El Paso. Great addition to connect team to their city.

915 actually! Only reason I bothered to look it up is that my cell phone number is 913 area code (Kansas side of Kansas City), so I knew it couldn’t be 913.

I think I established what 913 stands for.

79913 is a zip code for El Paso.

Well that’s just stoopid. Probably ought to 1) use a reference people don’t have to Google, and 2) save your storm trooper look for a game in which you won’t get your *** kicked.

God help us if we start putting 104 on our helmets. At least we’ll know where this obscure idea originated.

I live in El Paso and can tell you the people here were big fans of it, so if the idea was to generate some positive feelings about the program locally I’d say it was a success.

I don’t get this.
I think I established what 913 stands for.

79913 is a zip code for El Paso.
My comment was based on the apparently false original premise that the number was 913, as in the zip code. 104 would have been the last 3 numbers of 74104.

Using the 918 area code would be the more appropriate analogy, although I don’t know how much this is done in Tulsa.
