Quarter the turnovers and stop errant snaps and Nebraska probably improves 3 games a year over Frosts tenure regardless of penalties or special teams. I bet at least 2 more games if the ST just takes the 25 yd line and penalties halved.

Maybe don't start the game with that Mickey Mouse play where it's the QB option with the WR split out to the sideline as the pitch man

Eh, I remember a game not so long ago when we had 8 TOs in a single game and lost 9-7 to an Iowa State team with a backup QB who couldn't throw a ball past the line of scrimmage.

That was one of my personal low points in all of my years of fandom. Just brutal.

Those 2009 and 2010 teams were really close to being something pretty damn special.

Defense was incredible, but the offense just couldn't get out of its own way.

You look at the losses those years, and almost all were 1 score contests much less 1 play games to win.

Kids trying to do too much
Or too little (i.e. not focused on protecting the ball as job #1 and anything else is coming up short).

While some can be inexcusable, INT’s are not all equal. Sometimes I’m ok with the consequences of trying to make a play, but the fumbles are really a lack of focus 90% of the time. Coaches need to drill it into players’ heads.

I don’t remember the 9 vs IL, but I know there were plenty of fumbles in there.

I remember the heat Niles Paul was given for his fumble down the sideline. Made a great catch, tip-toeing the sideline, and his athleticism went against him as the ball hit his leg and fumbled into the end zone. Not becasue of ball insecurity, but to stay in-bounds to make a monster play.

1:00 in or so for Niles mishap. But there are 7 others.

Even with the clown music- it stings bad.
Just awful.
