8-Man Championship Finals Predictions

So far, here’s my record through the 8-Man Playoffs:

Round One: 30/32 (missed Hi-Line & Pleasanton)
Round Two: 14/16 (missed Tri County & Weeping Water)
Quarterfinals: 7/8 (missed Dundy County-Stratton)
Semifinals: 2/4 (missed Burwell & Sandhills/Thedford)

CLASS D1

Dundy County-Stratton over Burwell

Tough to pick against Burwell after they burned me in the semifinals and beat Cross County. These are two high-quality 8-man football teams. I expect this to be a high level game, and I think it will be more defensive than offensive. DCS 28, Burwell 22



CLASS D2

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley over Sandhills/Thedford

Another matchup of quality teams who are both incredibly deserving of playing in a final. Two physical teams who make their living running the ball. I think the experience of the players and coaches pays of for BDS. BDS 34, S/T 20

D1 - tough to pick against Burwell, but I think Dundy County Stratton comes home with their first state title in school history. In the only two games that DCS was behind in the 2nd half, they scored 24 and 22 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. Diaz seems to get stronger as the game goes on. I see a similar outcome this week. Burwell will likely have the lead in the 4th quarter, but Diaz carries his team to the title.

Not so fast my friend.....it seems as if Burwell gets stronger as the game goes on as well. So, if Burwell has the lead in the 4th - I'm going to say that Burwell wins. This game should be a dandy.
