Im not sold on Vandy or Florida. Vandy lost not only Rocker and Leiter but Luke Murphy and CJ Rodriquez. That lineup tanked at year end. I think Florida gets live every year bc these guys are clinging to their prospect rankings/hype

Ole Miss at home again??

I'm hoping Ole Miss makes it to a Super and loses. It is worst case scenario for them:
  • lose in a Regional (or not make the tournament) = easy decision to fire Bianco
  • make it to Omaha = easy decision to keep Bianco
  • lose in a Super = acceptable season in a vacuum, unacceptable 1 Omaha trip in 21 seasons

Ole Miss is going to make it back to Omaha. It's just a matter of time, but I would say they have just as much of a chance to make it back as most of those teams on the list.

They got good in the mid 2000's. If you look at the other teams who have made it to Omaha numerous times over that 15 year time period, it's embarrassing what little success they have had with high caliber talent. I fully expect their media guys and social media douche bag army to try and convince the rest of the country that Ole Miss is the most talented team in the nation once again. That's as good of a bet as them not making the College World Series in 2022.

Arizona quite literally lost everybody. When I say they lost everybody, I mean everybody.

Yeah, and UCLA had ten players drafted. I'd pencil in Stanford from the Pac 12.

In the SEC, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State have a great chance at getting to Omaha.

Texas, TCU and Texas Tech have a great shot out of the Big 12.

Notre Dame looks like they will be primed from the ACC.

My eighth team that will be a favorite is East Carolina. They finally make it to the Heartland.

There are nine more teams that should be in the hunt, with probably 3 more that could come out of nowhere.

Ole Miss and Tennessee from the SEC
Stanford and Oregon from the Pac 12
Miami from the ACC
Nebraska from the Big 10
UC Irvine, Gonzaga and Louisiana Tech from mid-majors

I think Vanderbilt will have a down year. They'll travel for a regional.

My way too early 2022 seeds are

1. Notre Dame
2. Florida
3. Texas
4. Arkansas
5. TCU
6. Mississippi State
7. East Carolina
8. Oregon
9. Texas Tech
10. Miami
11. Nebraska
12. Ole Miss
13. Louisiana Tech
14. Tennessee
15. UC Irvine
16. Stanford

They are the most talented team in the nation. But the 'WAOM' curse will always keep them out.... that and Bianco.

Didn’t Tennessee lose a lot this year. I thought I remembered them having like 7 seniors or something.

Of course they will make it back to Omaha at some point. Too good a program not to. But at some point, all the postseason failures can’t be blamed on bad luck. Blanco is only 40-39 in NCAA tournament games.

Ole miss is returning every bat aren’t they? They were good offensively and will be a year older. I assume they will hit even better.

They lost all their pitching though. That’s going to be a problem.

We have a chance to be outstanding pitching. I would like some portal help for depth in the middle of the infield.

I think Tennessee's coach is outstanding. LSU is stupid for not throwing everything at them. They won't be a favorite for Omaha, but I think they slip in and host in a "down" year.

LSU, Mississippi State, Stanford, Texas, Miami, NC State, Texas Tech, & East Carolina

UPIG will probably struggle next year
LSU could be really good
Florida will be overrated preseason as always
Ole Miss will have pitching issues & score a lot of runs
Vandy will struggle unless some hitters develop. Their pitching could be good enough to win the East.

.

I fully expect them to win it all within the next few years. Hope I’m wrong. They like to ride our coat tails.

I fully expect them to win the CWS in the next two to three years. I don't see any way they don't break through and match what we just did. I don't have any actual data or logic for this, other than the current status seems too good to last.

Even if that happened, we would still be a better program. Let that sink in.

SECW looks very interesting in 2022.

Arkansas, LSU, and OM are all going to mash offensively. But I don’t really know how any of those teams are going to get people out. Arkansas probably has the most talent on the mound out of that group.

Our offense will probably be a notch below that group, but none of those teams comes close to matching the talent and experience we return on the mound. On paper, we have the best pitching staff in the division by a long shot. We should be the odds on favorites to win the west in 2022.

Bama, Auburn, and A&M can compete for NCAA berths, but they are the 5-7 teams in some order.

Arkansas, Ole Miss and LSU were all top half of the SEC in Ks. Same for HRs. That doesn't win you a championship. The launch angle stuff, and selling out for bombs even if it means excessive strike outs, doesn't work, I don't know why it has stuck around this long. You have to put the ball in play while having some power to go with it.

Too many players do the launch angle stuff in order to appear to be power hitters, just as they do for the pitching speed. If players would just do what comes naturally, then work off that, they would be better off.
