8-31 overall . (5 of the 8 wins are non p5 )

3-25 in conference

15 straight power 5 losses.

Ash is probably really way better than what his record indicates . Things can only go up!
Ash may stop getting us smashed one day soon!

After Saturday he'll have the same winning percentage as Shea (0.200) yet many until recently kept comparing him to Schiano. As I said early on, the far better comparison is TS

As where after the 2018 season it was unlikely that Ash would be fired, one year later it’s just as unlikely that he won’t be fired. Two months to ago. The bigger problem is who do we hire next?

It’s not a problem, it’s an opportunity. Hobbs has experience in this and we must believe!

He’s actually worse than his record.

Very similar
Schiano = MacPherson
Flood = Pasqualoni
Ash = Robinson

Bring back Schiano. Syracuse should’ve brought back MacPherson. Oh wait, he was up there in age. Schiano is in the prime of his life. Get him now.

I prefer:

Schiano = Marrone (“dream job”, stabilized the program, ended up leaving for the NFL)

Ash = Schaefer (career DC, first time HC, talked a big game but ultimately the usual defensive conservative meathead football approach)

Now we just need our Babers - innovative offensive HC to narrow the gap with the top teams in the league (see SU vs Clemson in 2017 and 2018).

Even during Floods worst days, would anyone have thought it could even be possible to go 8-31 and most likely 8-32 over the next 40 games?

I knew ash would suck and get us smashed back in 2015 . But I didn’t think this bad either . If Hobbs had hired some randomly successful high school coach instead of ash I think the results would probably be the same or better . That is sad .

McPhereson (IIRC) left Syracuse for a NFL job (Patriots 91 and 92)
very similar to Greg S.

It's funny how those numbers are almost exactly GS's numbers in the same amount of time as CA.[roll]
If fact I thought this thread was about GS...what with all the pro GS and anti GS camps going back and forth.:popcorn:

Because he's the best AD we've ever had and just raised $100MM.

Any other basic questions?

I have a serious question on the subject ...

Let's say that Ash stays on through the end of the season but is then fired. Do any of the decent 2020 recruits jump ship? Let's say the next coach (if it's not already announced) is Schiano, Butch Jones, or someone else exciting? Does the recruiting class improve?

And, (last question, I promise) Does the next coach - whomever that is - have a better stocked cupboard than Ash did when he got here or when Schiano arrived (almost) 20 years ago? Is it an equal playing field?

You should have your head examined trying to compare it to GS. It's insulting tbh. I have never seen a team coached so poorly at Rutgers, than under Chris Ash.

Yes to all. Our recruiting class is in the 80s and we are battling AAC and MAC for kids. Next years team will have 45 scholarship players, a lot to work with, just need a few grad transfers on the lines.

i think after Saturdays expected loss,and it will be the FOURTH game,you may see Kids who want out ,shut themselves down via injury or even just outright to save a years eligibility.This is the trend nationwide and IF you are on a bad team and the Head Coach is dead man walking,why wouldn't you?

No, I should have my head examined for being a RU football fan all these years.

Insulting? how? That GS is God and we shouldn't throw rocks at God?:Shocked
All I'm saying is if you're going throw overall and conference records out there...they are BOTH similar...although BE was weaker conference.

Full disclosure, I'm against Ash AND Schiano
