Both of those teams won't be penalized in the NET and the any Big Ten, barring a loss to Northwestern, won't be penalized for league losses.

7th at least. Penn ST **** the bed with 2 losses so their gone and with so many others dropping we should be at 7, 8 at the worse. While everyone in front of us was losing we beat 2 teams in the 30s with one coming on the road for another Quad 1 win. Honestly, with going 9-1 the last 10 and 14 of 16 they shouldn't be able to stop us from 6th, but I figure 7th since they usually don't do us any favors. 8th would be a bit of a head-scratcher, but that should be as low as they can keep us.

Actually that is sorta the exact opposite of the truth ( the 2nd sentence) of all the "rankings " the human polls are the only one that give a good indication of where you will be in seeding. I mean not exactly but very close but for example we were 4th in the final AP poll and we ended up 7 seed over all. We will be ranked 7th on Monday and IMO we are around the 10th overall seed as of today . It is all the other nonsense like NET , which is only used to figure out Quad wins or garbage like Kenpom that aren't that important .

The poll on monday will be 1.KU 2. Baylor 3. Duke 4.Dayton 5. Gonzaga 6. SDSU 7.UK 8. Maryland 9.FSU 10 Nova Or very very close to that.

If the Cats escape College Station with a win, then it will be time to start realistically talking about closing out the year with the intention of earning a 2 seed.

Baylor/Kansas and Duke/FSU have to play each other again in their conference tournament. Gonzaga, SDSU, Dayton have no room for error.

Polls and seeding don't go hand in hand.

I suspect we improve about 3 spots in the polls.

In terms of seeding--I think there are some teams we need them to lose 1 for us to pass:

U of L, Creighton, Seton Hall.

Maryland after their loss today, 1 more loss could perceivably let us jump them.

FSU needs 1, arguably 2 more losses for us to jump them.

I'm curious as to how hard the SDSU hits them in terms of bracket setting.

So one bad loss can haunt you forever? Puke losing to SF Austin did seem to hurt them as bad. It’s crazy to say one loss hold so much weight regardless of any other wins.
