The visiting bleachers are a joke. Two or 3 rows and maybe 30 yards wide. Cant happen when you are hosting a 6a semi finals game. And in addition to the limited capacity, the bleachers are field level and visibility on the first two rows is limited with 70ish players, coaches, etc right in front of you.

Also, the Lemont folks wouldnt let any esl fans park on the home side/top of the hill. They were all forced to use the tiny parking lot on the visitors side. And for many of the older fans, they couldnt make it up that hill, esp that first year when it was cold and icy.
I forgot how crappy the visitor bleachers were. I guess I figured they would have upgraded them from when I was there last in the early 90s as their enrollment grew a good amount since then.

Teams in the CCL?
So this is the point you're arguing? LMAO typical piss on ya and tell ya it's raining behavior
what point am i arguing? that was my first post in the thread, as far as i was aware DLS isn't even playing out their varsity season. i just can't imagine which team would consider that game (if it were to happen) a rivalry game

Man look someone else said DLS and rice wasn't hospitable basically. My point was Lemont hostility seemed based in something deeper than football. And proceeded to give an example. That's it that's all bro

they were talking about the visitors bleachers being small at DLS/Rice. At least that is what I took from it, running ccl joke about Rice visitors bleachers and people complaining about them.

An easy one.... ok with students section wearing white tyvek suits with pointed hoods to a game while play a black team is wild.

Sorry you feel that way, bleachers are similar to most HS’s I’ve visited and parking is limited for everyone. Not a lot of spots since its location to downtown. As for the elderly, they usually have golf carts running from each of the parking lots.

Looks like it’s a possibility to have four 9-0 teams in 6A North
It is possible, but Belvidere North still has a difficult game against Rockton Hononegah. Even if they win that game to finish the regular season unbeaten, it seems to me they are two touchdowns behind Cary-Grove, Libertyville and Geneva.

Antioch and Glenbard South ran from the gauntlet of privates in 5A and petitioned up to 6A. Going to be interesting to see how they fair, personally I think they both are mirages, playing noboby in reg season and get exposed in playoffs year after year.

All.... Not sure how they managed to do it. The rule is when a school petitions to play up it must be done by September first of the first year in the two season enrollment period. Both of those schools played in the postseason 5A class last year. (year one of two)

You are correct the current Ihsa enrollment figures for all teams showing the (U) which designates playing up. Those two have it. Maybe the Ihsa recently changed the rule? If so that surprises me. It would allow a school to manipulate the system if they see a strong contender they might have to play in that second year of the two season enrollment average. The only other thing it could be is a mistake and it will not start till the 2025-2026 season. Ratsy

Assuming you’re just gonna ignore how opposing fans are treated when they visit ESL for playoff games. I’m not excusing what happened in Lemont, but let’s not pretend ESL rolls out the red carpet and welcomes with open arms
Have you had a bad experience at an ESL playoff game? Not talking about from random fans, but from school admin, faculty, security, etc?

Nothing but good things when SF played down in the classic, granted they didn't play ESL but it was their event.

Yes. Not sure if they were fans or admin, no one had name tags on
Then it was fans. Anyone working at the ESL games has on name tags/ID. Or they have on their police or state trooper uniform.

What happened at the game?

After the game. Throwing **** at our bus and other behavior that I wouldn’t expect from adults.

No, adults shouldnt be doing that. But your initial comment made it seem like ESL admin, the people organizing and running the event, were the reason for your bad experience. Which is what we were talking about at Lemont.

FWIW - I was at this game and arrived early. Had an outstanding conversation with a couple ESL fans. Sat close to the Lemont student section and didn't hear or notice anything that has been mentioned on this board since the game. Thought it was a good game with well behaved fans.

Lemont's visitor bleachers do suck (but ESL's fault for having players 6'8 350lbs for their fans to look over) The walkway up from the parking lot closest to the visitor bleachers is extremely steep and dangerous for an elderly fan.

Like 2010ish. You want the police report too. Guessing you should be able to figure out the rest unless it happens more often that it should and can’t narrow it down from here.
Or....people dont remember things that never happened? It kind of goes both ways.

Looking at some of your posting history, Im going to assume you are a St. Rita fan. And maybe (just guessing here) you are talking about the 2008 playoff game when ESL came back and beat St. Rita?

We actually watched the game from the south endzone before they put up windscreens and parked in the south parking lot by the school. I don't remember any incidents there, which is where the busses park. 🤨

Believe what you want, it happened. The bus was stopped at an intersection when it happened

At an intersection? So a public street not even at the stadium or parking lot? At first it was ESL admin/faculty, then it was fans, now it was on a public street that had nothing to do with the football game?

Im not saying it didnt happen, but your story seems to be changing quite a bit from what was being initially discussed.

I've never said it was admin/faculty so don't put works in my mouth. Not my fault you incorrectly interpreted my responses. "They" had ESL gear on so assumed they were fans and it happened like two blocks outside the stadium(maybe even closer it was 15 years ago). These details are consistent with what I've said from the beginning, you're just getting more details is all.

I wouldn't call it an incorrect interpretation. It was more of a random, irrelevant comment from you given the fact that we were discussing the visiting accommodations as provided by the admin and faculty at Lemont to visiting fans. And you somehow felt like some random fan, at a random intersection in ESL was indicative of the actual admin and faculty who were working at CCJ stadium. The more details you provide, the less im seeing how it in any way is some reflection on how you were treated at the actual football game.

My bad, thought you were saying FANS wore pointed white hoods to a game while playing a black team. Just pointing out my experience with SOME FANS a block or two from their stadium

AGAIN, NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT FACULTY/ADMINS.
