When the schedule came out, it was obvious this stretch at Fla, at I-State, Bay (who trifecta'd WV last year) and at Kansas was the most challenging part hands down. No surprise today fell in the L column. & although it didn't help, it was not because of Jonathan Holton's absence.

Someone insisted beforehand: "Florida can't score the basketball." How I wish that were true today.

88 points. 4th highest total of their season.

A terrible 3 point shooting twam against a pretty good 3 point defense and they hit 12-20. Sometimes you just have to eat a loss. We could have helped ourself by hitting easy shots and not turning it over 20+ times.

I was disappointed, but not surprised.

Gators were projected in the field in both ESPN and CBS' brackets before the game. UF entered today at 25th in the RPI and 9th SOS. They only strengthened their case & got the big resume win they were gunning for.

Had we somehow scratched out another road win today, it would've been our second best win this season, in my opinion.

Don't like it, but you have to give them some credit.

Don't like this either, but despite being one of the weaker basketball leagues, WV is 0 for last 4 vs S-E-C S-E-C.

It's hard to win when you turn the ball over 20+ times especially with the type of game we play. This was a team loss and no player was fundamentally sound today. Hopefully, they can rebound from this and be ready for isu Tuesday night.

I think if you go back and look at their last few games they have been shooting the three much better than their season average.

We caught a very talented and athletic team that has really begun to gel the last few weeks. We caught them at home where they have historically been very tough. The way they have played recently, for the most part, means their early season stats, which affect the whole season, may not be all that relevant at this point.

They came out and kicked our butts. Plain and simple.

Keaton, I'm curious to what you think of the lack of adjustments by Huggs. Because all I saw was a press from start to finish where we wasted energy chasing a dribbler down court for an open dish or three. On top of that the constant trap where there was an open dish underneath.

This went on the entire game for the most part. The press was worthless and I saw no adjustments. Plus, more dumb passes and driving in the lane when it wasn't there. UF was well coached and prepared for this one and it was like Huggs didn't want to do anything else.

To be fair I've been impressed by his O and D adjustments this season that's why I was surprised in not seeing anything. At least in my lack of X and O eyes.

That's their five game 3 pt % before today. And they almost hit 60% four games ago against Ole Miss.
And they lost by 3 ... at aTm who handled Iowa State today.

We were beaten by a talented team that has come together over the last three weeks.

open..not open......they were at 70 percent before I finally left the arena so they must have missed a few after I left.......I would be willing to bet they will never hit at that percent again for the rest of the year.....hell, the rest of this decade. They were shooting better from the 3 than we were for lay ups.......nothing would have changed the game today with that percent from the 3

I think sometimes Huggs lets the guys learn the hard way. They didn't come in with the intensity he wanted and afterwards he commented on players/team needing to do what they do well, and not try to do what they can't do. So .... I think, at some point, he let's his guys get their butts kicked so that he gain their attention.

Huggs would never publicly say this. I just think that "occasionally" he knows his team is not going to respond and so he lets them stew in their own juices.
