So what are the cuts you’re calling for?no not fold - just spend the minimum in a sport in a conference that isn't nationally competitive

What should we spend less on?
You know what, never mind. It’s too nice of a day to argue about something that’s never going to happen with a guy that joined the board today. I don’t really use the ignore feature but for you I’ll make an exception.baseball scholarships, coaching/admin salaries, facilities, recruiting, travel, equipment
Mirror the university of northern Omaha’s budget - they seem to compare favorably to us this year

I think he is just arguing that the Big Ten is a horrible baseball conference, which it is.Are you arguing that Nebraska should fold the baseball program? If so, put me down with Tim - dumb post. Unless you're a clueless moron you know the trend in amateur baseball is that the talent level in non-traditional areas (ie cold weather) is off the charts up. Nebraska fans love baseball and any moronic moves like you are arguing for would result in a **** storm of epic proportions. Nebraska can afford baseball, money is the least of our issues. Or at least it was until Moos stuck it up us sideways.
Even though NU and its fans are newer members to the conference you can see many have bought into the "Big Ten is the best conference" mantra.the big has not had a baseball national champion since 1966
there have only been ~ 3 teams make the college world series in the last 34-35 years
there have been over 270 slots in the CWS over this time span - the big ten has only filled 3 of them --
the big ten averages less than a team a decade advancing to the CWS
the big ten is a filler for the tourney -- much like the A-10 or the MVC in basketball
the average conference RPI is 8.9 over the last 10 years - this would slot as the sunbelt or conf USA in football
using the NCAA basketball tournament as a metric - how would you describe a conference that has only had 3 teams qualify for the elite 8 in the past 34-35 years?
Indiana made it to the finals of the CWS in 2013. LOL at the B1G being a weak conference.the big ten is low mid-major baseball - keep Bolt but divest in baseball
the big ten's baseball RPI is currently 10th -- 5 places behind the Missouri Valley with teams like S. Illinois, Evansville and Indiana State
it's simply not a major college/power 5 sport in the big ten … the university made a conscious decision to sacrifice the baseball program when it moved to the big ten
That was Michigan in 2019. Indiana won a game or two but were not runners-up.Indiana made it to the finals of the CWS in 2013. LOL at the B1G being a weak conference.
It's jlb. He's been posting this exact same thing for years now.You know what, never mind. It’s too nice of a day to argue about something that’s never going to happen with a guy that joined the board today. I don’t really use the ignore feature but for you I’ll make an exception.
I thought I smelled something unpleasant on my shoe, so that makes sense. It's jlb. He's been posting this exact same thing for years now.
Yep not a pretty weekendA NOT SO solid effort against one of the worst teams in the Big 10.
