One of my best memories of my youth…

The game was as great as the hype of the game since the beginning of October…

And 50 years ago yesterday, D.B. Cooper made the jump from a 727 commercial airliner over Washington with $200K in twenties. Never to be heard from again. Although 6K of the 200K was found buried in sand on a river bank.

I remember the game well but at the time I was too young to appreciate the excitement of a close game. I wanted my Cornhuskers to dominate, dammit!

Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed the ***-whipping NU put on Alabama a few weeks later.

That game was great, I didn't watch it all because we were playing football in the yard with all the neighbor kids in Grand Island.
The good old days!!!!

Wonder how annoyed Johnny the Jet must get when he watches the current team fair catch (or fumble) its way through the entire season on punt and kick returns.

This makes me feel old realizing how long ago this was. I was in college. That rivalry was "must-see" TV every year. The Big 12 made a big mistake not scheduling that game every year.
