If Pitino is wise, he will push the Morgan State game back to Wednesday and accept the invitation to come to Storrs Monday night. No fans are coming to these games so it should be easy to move games up a day.

BTW, Rickie P got his first win at Iona today, beating Hofstra 82-74.

Best bets for a game Monday are URI or Iona, if Rickie P can push the Morgan State game back a day or two. Let's face it, Pitino did not come back to coach in college to not be in the NCAA tournament, and a game against UConn will toughen up his team for MAAC league play. They must win that league to get into the NCAA tournament.

" Huskies appear to be looking for higher-major type, anyway. " is A-10 high enough ?

Or what about a fairly close C-USA team ( Kenya Hunter's son plays for 'em ) who was supposed to play Uconn in FB. They just lost 2 games....

I was looking at Rhode Island's schedule and they had a game cancelled 12/4 AT BC, which means that they will have no games for 11 days until their next scheduled game on 12/13, having last played on 12/2 vs. SHU. I do not understand why they can't make this game happen. This is a perfect opponent, they seem to be pretty good and easily beat Seton Hall. Come on guys if you can't get something scheduled Monday or Tuesday given the very open schedules of both teams, then something is wrong. Hurley needs to forget about his connections with URI, and URI needs to forget that Hurley left them, what is most important is that both teams get a game. And they both have holes in their schedules at the same time and need work.

I was looking at Umass's line-up with former Uconn recruit and CT prep , Tre Mitchell. They seem like a good challenge also and they haven't played a game all year. Them or URI seem to make the most sense because of the quicker bus trips, who could change on the fly.
