SF record 4-8, 5-7, 3-5, 3-6, 15-21. Last in the west 1-5 with the majority of his recruiting players on both sides (offense/defense). Offense is ranked (2) in the big 10 in total offense, and (4) in scoring 29.9 pts/game. So is SF deserving year 5?

Frost should have been fired after IL.

This program is no longer "close." If Frost says that one more time....he should be fired for using that word alone. You aren't close when you lose to IL, Purdue, and Minnesota after having chances to beat two really highly ranked teams and another you made them uneasy (OU game).

That is just a team that has bead coaching. This is a 9 win roster that will only get to 3 wins.

In a world where Frost wasn't stubborn, able to part ways with some of the dead weight on the staff and recognize the talent he doesn't use often enough, I would be in support of giving him more time. But with him, old habits die hard or they just never die. It is crazy to look at those stats and think he should be given more time when he seems so content with status quo (based on his actions or rather inactions)

In Nebraska defense, if losing to Purdue is cause to fire their coach, Ohio state would fire their coach more than they would like.

Doesn't matter if he's deserving or not, it's what his contract stipulated, win or lose.

It's more about the total whole of the big picture. You aren't close when you keep losing to the same teams you lost to in the past seasons. 2-2 against IL, 1-3 against MN and Purdue.

Nebraska hasn't won a game against Ohio State or Iowa or Wisconsin since 2014. And Frost isn't beating any of those three this month.

that Wisconsin defense might shutout Nebraska.

it's 26 loses, not 21.
Thanks for the correction! (15-26) "You are what your record says you are." The point is that you can't reason distance between you and what you accomplish (or don't accomplish.) Results speak for themselves. The rest of the speaking we do is generally everything else.”

The Wisconsin defense, in my opinion is better than the 2nd half Purdue defense, which is normal Purdue. 1st half Purdue defense was not normal Purdue. But I hope Nebraska beats Wisconsin! Purdue cant....

Purdue did some decent things on defense and I credit them for confusing Adrian, but that isn't real hard to do. Nebraska didn't have a lot of trouble moving the ball and made a ton of bonehead errors. Much like your game against Minnesota where you looked like **** in the rain and handed it to them, we did a lot of the same in the Purdue game, but that is football. That game probably looks a hell of a lot different if our WR catches that ball and we go in 24-14 at half and get the ball. With that said, we didn't make the plays and our team is fragile and from there it just spiraled. Wisconsin definitely has a good defense, but we've literally moved it on everyone, just can't get out of our own way. That's Nebraska football. Literally should have knocked off #3, #7, #8 and #20 this year already, but because we step on our own dick so much we are a 3 win team talking about firing our coach.

You say they should have been up 24-14 at half, but I could say the same about Purdue. A dropped pick 6 and a missed FG. 1st half vs Nebraska was about the worst Purdue has played all year.

Why mention $5 million? That’s the going rate for a Power5 coach. So what?

People get all butthurt when somebody makes a lot of money. Somehow it’s not fair, because they work hard and make only a small fraction. You are worth what someone is willing to pay you. If you want to earn more, make yourself more valuable in a field that is willing to pay for true skills.

I am starting to really think the administration doesn’t care so much anymore about football.

let it die or whatever.. focus on being an academic school, focus on grant money.. shrug your shoulders and go on about your day type thing.

kind of a scary thought, but that is the type of vibe I am getting.. like this whole football business is one big distraction that they would rather do without.

5 mill is the going rate? Money is mentioned because when you make a bunch, more is expected. It is that basic.

I’ve felt this way for a few years now, that the administration only cares about money not necessarily winning. Maybe I’m overreacting as it truly doesn’t make sense why they wouldn’t want a winning football team. Nebraska is one of the only athletic departments in the country that puts money back into academics. When the football team is winning the whole university is winning in my opinion.

You're saying that since his contract says he gets X number of years, he should automatically get X number of years, performance be damned?
There’s nothing “automatic” about contracts. Two parties agree to the terms and both parties have to live up to them. That’s why Frost’s contract extension was such a stupid move.

You get paid what you are worth.

If you feel you aren't getting paid enough, you get another job that pays you what you feel is your worth.

We've hired coaches since 2004 at a higher than going rate.

Maybe we try something new and underpay the Bowling Green guy that actually beat Minnesota this year? Can't possibly be worse.
