I do not recall how the ratings work... Is it at the time of the game or the rating at the end of the regular season? Purdue wont be #1 at the end of the season. So it will be a good win but they'll probably be around #10-#15.

who says, they will likely be in the top 10 if not top 5

anyhow the quads rankings have nothing to do with rankiing at the time but where you are ranked at the end of the year.

I'd be surprised if Purdue does not finish in the top 5. The Boilermakers are loaded with talent.

The problem is that you speak in declaratives. The loss to Lafayette is definitely a knock on our resume, but it doesn't definitely keep us out of the tournament, as you seem to be implying. If we go 10-10 in conference, have a top 30 BPI and a winning record was Q1 and Q2 teams, we will be in. We may even get in with a lower BPI and a less than .500 Q1/Q2 record. Because there are multiple factors considered and our resume is compared to 20 or so other teams with blips on their records. You arguing about one loss with so much left to play just makes you look like a troll.
I didn’t mean to focus on a single game. I meant to use it as an example in a season not define the entire season but did it poorly.

But today’s result is another example of why this entire point is moot. Rutgers needs lots of good wins to help offset the man bad losses that have piled up early. (Meaning the losses to bad teams, and the huge losses to good teams.) Today was a missed opportunity for another needed Good Win. And probably an indication that despite a fluke result over Purdue there won’t be a ton on the resume this year.

An early season q4 loss won’t mean **** if it’s a strong finish and 8th in league. Many teams will have “bad” loses this season
Very few tournament teams--if any--will have a quad 4 loss, let alone at home. That is the reality, like it or not. Have to win miminum 10 league games and go from there.

can’t lose any of these last 3 OOC cupcake games and then need to likely go something like 12-8 in conference to get an at large bid
