I remember getting ash on vehicles in Nebraska after that happened. I would highly recommend visiting Mount St Helens - the power of nature and how that landscape was dramatically altered is beyond words.

Yeah my grandpa kept a jar of Mt St Helens ash in his basement that he got off his car back then
