I am actually rooting for UK to pull this off even as an IU alum. I have a good friend who is a die hard Cat fan that has been in an excruciating battle with cancer for the last few years. I honestly don't know how much he has left in him. I know how much joy making history would bring him so go Cats!

You must not be a native, you have way too much class for that. Thanks for the well wishes, and I hope your friend can hang on and find as much joy as possible in the time he has left.

Doing anything to help a friend is a good thing. UK fans, and fans in general, see more for your love of friend rather than breaking your loyalty to IU. Kudos for doing all that you can for friend in need. Best wishes and recovery to your friend.

Rivalries and banter should be and are fun but life far outweighs sports of any kind. Sorry to hear about your friend and certainly hope and pray for him to remain as peaceful as he can until that time comes..

You're the nicest IU fan I've ever seen. Every other IU fan I've ever encountered has been a complete douche., it's good to know there's decent IU fans out there. Hope your friend pulls through, my mother-in-law is going through chemo right now for a brain tumor. Cancer sucks.

There's been plenty of posts here lately about the negative people within fan bases. It's nice to see someone who gets it and doesn't take sports too seriously. Great job OP, and nothing but the best for you and your friend.

What a classy comment for an IU alum to make on our board no less. I am not a religious person, but I wish your friend all the best and not simply because I too am a die hard UK fan. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and comments.
