I think this is a very capable RC team but how capable? They played two bad non conference teams and rolled a below average ICE conference. IC played a very very good schedule to only lose a close game to JCA, I think we will get the answer in a few weeks

Just rewatched that game a few days ago. Those 2 deserved to play that game for a state title.
Yeah I guess I can’t say if that’s a referendum on the conference. Will have more data in a couple weeks.

That was the most stacked team we’ve had at RB and might ever have. Qb is now at Illinois TE is at holy cross but have heard rumors about transferring to the Big 10 WR is at Costal Carolina one of the lineman was at Arizona Legnioli who was undersized but a hell of a player is a captain as a sophomore for Carol and the 2 Wood brothers are at Dubuque but don’t get me started how both those studs didn’t get D1 offers
I was at that game. I remember Coal City had a very good team....with a great RB, who was a stud wrestler. That R-B team was outstanding.....huge and very talented. They could have played a few classes above 4A and competed very well with that team.
Yes. Was mentioned in the 4A thread that in 2013 SHG had 13 consecutive running clocks going into the title game where they beat Montini by 10.
Reed-Custer has a lot of weapons. Equal to IC. One factor not being talked about is Reed-Custer line play. They have played fantastic all season....both sides are quick off the line. They have been really tough to run against(Wilmington game) and have not given more then 1 or 2 sacks
Obviously, RC's line is playing very well this year given the points they have put up. But I don't think Reed-Custer has seen a line that is the size and the ability and only plays 1 side of the ball this year. IC also has more speed than anyone RC has played in their conference.
Both teams are expecting to win a state championship and this will be a very fun semi-final game should it happen.
I expect the winner of that game to be playing Prairie Cental or Williamsville and walk out of Memorial Stadium with a 1st place trophy.
Princeton is loaded, top flight QB and they are physically tough. Byron is always in the mix, very well coached and very physicsl. Both are great programs. RC is very talented, all over the field. Lots of great football to be played. Best time of the year.
IC also has several guys going both ways.
IMO, it’s over rated. Their HS kids who have been going both ways all year. None issue
There is a southern half of the state, and Prairie Central is a very good football team. If my memory is serving me correctly, the southern half of the bracket has won two of the last three 3A championships.
I expect the Hawks to emerge on the other side with Williamsville and Mt. Carmel as possibles.
