Thanks for this thread, Denver. I wasn't able to watch the game, and after coming on here tonight I just didn't have the energy to read through all the negative posts in the other threads. I knew that was going to be a tough game, and it was.

Well dbav thats great you feel that way and if you want to support them just like you always do thats totally cool with me. I support them also and but due to their lack of urgency, poor shooting, lackluster defense, turnovers galore and pitiful free throw shooting and often god awful play they have tempered my expectations going forward so I'll try to be realistic. Do I hope we win out? Hell yes I hope we win out but today showed no indication to expect them to win out the rest of the season. Certainly I hope I am wrong and hope you are right and we can win another Championship.
If this team can play angry the rest of the way, your prediction will hold. The talent is certainly there, that's for sure.

I know there is season left, but the chances for a 1 seed are getting slim. Three of Duke's four losses have come to teams that won't make the NCAA Tournament, including one that had just lost 11 straight games. That is not the the resume of a 1 seed. But ultimately, that doesn't have to be catastrophic. I think only once in the modern era has the Final Four been made up exclusively of 1 seeds. What will be big for Duke is if they continue to do enough to still begin their run in Charlotte. It would be great to play their first two rounds there, particularly if UNC is in another city.
ESPN still gives us a 30% chance at a 1-seed, we would have been a 53% if we won yesterday.

If we win out we won’t even need to win the ACC tourney to get a 1 seed IMO. Teams around us are going to lose games coming in.

It’s like the guy yelling “Travel!” every possession of my 7-year old’s basketball game. They must have some brain block on understanding how that makes everyone else in the room feel, including the kids. It’s selfish and makes people hate you. The whole point of a youth rec league is to build character and improve skills.
Likewise, the point of a thread like this is clearly to lift spirits and make light of a bad loss. People who come by to crap on it are either trolling or are like the annoying dad at the youth rec game.
Spot on DD. My kids are grown, but witnessed those people while my kids were younger playing youth sports.

This website projects duke as a 1 seed by years end. Interesting that Cincinnati is the team that they are beating out for that last one seed.

What's worse is there is a 4 step allowance in K-1st basketball. I tried telling the guy, and he told me to look up the rules of basketball. The parents around me were laughing their asses off. At 6'4, 280, he sure did look tough yelling at me at 5'7" 150. I actually shook hands with him afterwards just to keep things civil, but my wife is still mad about he whole thing. She wants blood.
