That's how many days the Dow Jones has been open. 32,328 of those days were better than today. Down 13%.

This is really getting to the point of being hard to wrap your head around. I don’t think a sell off surprised anyone being that the market has just been waiting for a reason to dip for a lengthy time. That said, nearly 30% in under 3 weeks? Holy cow...

I don’t have any right to be telling anyone what to do with their money, but something tells me that the same people taking their lumps by continuing to dump their investments are the same ones that really can’t afford to be taking these losses

The market is pretty fundamental except when it is emotional. Pandemics, and really just any kind of mass uncertainty, causes the market to be incredibly volatile. Once this virus is better understood and the US curve for infection move off of parabolic, the market will begin to correct again. Keep and eye on the VIX curve and keep whatever liquidity you have in place until it settles down. Better yet, go get a good RIA and let them worry about it.

I think you're right that it'll settle down after the panic period is over. In fact, now may be a good time to invest while leaving current investments alone. Doing the opposite of what I do usually works out better though. ;)

Yep, the old buy low sell high philosophy is pretty tried and true when it comes to the market. Most folks have to go against their natural inclination though to ever pull any money out when things are going gangbusters.
