That have not changed for pike’s teams. Empty possessions, defending the 3, handling competent centers

I think this was one of those buzz saw games that every team has. Iowa is just good on offense, and they’re difficult to stop when they’re hitting shots.

I’m not worried about our defense bouncing back.

But our offense has been a problem all year against P6 teams and will continue to be a problem, simply because we only have one consistent shooter, and Iowa showed the rest of the league how to contain Spencer — by defending him with a taller wing.

We were not dialed in on defense until it was too late.

That plus Iowa was unconscious from 3 and every bounce seemed to go their way. And once again we missed waaaay too many chippies to expect to win.

Iowa continues to be a bad matchup for Rutgers because they have a high powered offense based on outstanding passing/ball movement and terrific 3 point shooting. The 21 point disparity from the 3 point line was too much to overcome.

Wrong wrong wrong

It's basketball and teams have off games over 30+ games.

I didn't realize Zach Edey and Trayce Jackson Davis weren't competent.

You sound like the whiny fan that expects to win all 20 B1G games.
Teams have off days and great days. We had an off day and Iowa had a great day, playing their best game of the year, hence the loss. Their passing was great and they're not going to shoot 12-27 from deep in too many games, while our defensive intensity was only there in modest stretches and we need to play very good defense to beat good teams.

This was the first game with bad 3 defense. We’ve actually been one of the best this year.

Empty possessions after turnovers is about it. Not expecting 100% conversion, but seems like we are under 30%. In ability to finish around the rim is most frustrating. Off base on the other 2.

Iowa made some tough three's and had not been shooting three's that well all year. They have always played us tough and it was their day

I went to the message board home page and saw this thread, but it didn’t exist on my page

The reason? Thread starter is on ignore

I don’t always get all things related to Rutgers hoops right, but I got putting this guy on ignore correct.

WTF?!?

Everyone has off days, the problem start when it carries into the next game. Tge schedule is unforgiving and you can string losses together. Need to nip this in the bud vs Northwestern...a tough but certainly winnable game
