Better line blocking/protection, better decision making by the QB and better wheels/mobility on the part of the QB and not afraid of making the decision to run (goes back to #1) The problem is I do not see us accomplishing any of these this year

A lot of the offensive line problems could be solved by not standing 15 yards apart. It’s hard to be a good decision maker when you have a lineman in your face in .5 seconds. I didn’t see many clean pockets at all. Drew Brees couldn’t throw behind that line.

Not sure if the line blocking can improve. We don't have quality personnel to replace what's out there, which isn't very good. To improve QB play Rogers may be the answer although he's a freshman and will be prone to make freshman mistakes. IMO Sharder may be the best solution. He's more experienced, stronger, can run which would add a dimension to help with poor OL blocking and maybe force defenses to come out of that zone defense and surely can throw a 5 yard pass. Only problem starting Shrader is Leach won't install running plays for him it would mean changing some of his philosphy.

Putting Shrader in at QB would probably be the biggest boost to our offense. But that isn’t going to happen so we just have to endure the pain this year.

From what i saw, the blocking broke down on the outside more than up the middle. The defenders just went around our tackles/tight ends. There doesn't necessarily need to be more designed run plays; just the recognition by the QB that a run lane has opened during the QB scramble and having the mobility to exploit it.

Yea that'd be smart and we'd be 3-1 at worst but it's more important to showcase the same ineffective 1995 Air Raid plays over and over again than to win games.

If there's anything we can take comfort in it's that this state and region produces an abundance of athletic, quick-footed, smart, plug-and-play-ready OLs that fit this system. [/faaaaarrrrrrrrt].
