Kiss had a couple of opportunities to knock some down that could've impacted the comeback....just not their day today in any aspect...defense not great, Buckeyes made shots and Baker and Mathis didn't play well....way too many touches and usage for Eugene, not going to win games that way.

There is no doubt that teams will watch our film from our former winning steak and force us to pass it out and prove we can make shots...so we got to nail them

Having said that...our game is simple

11-2 when Holding teams under 70

0-8 when teams score 70 plus

That’s our number for right now ...we need to defend, defend, defend and defend some more while we grow up and get better offensively

This game is a reality check on the difficulty in winning on the road without outside shooters and far better foul shooting.Rutgers has no margin for error home or away because a grind out game with low scoring is the only option for success.

Kiss was 0-4 today. If he can't knock down at least 2 of those, because none of them were contested, I'd rather not see him in there because he's slow in D and hurts the team. I'd rather see those extra minutes go to McConnell and/or Harper.

Spot on Shack, this point should be drilled into their head. Either hunker down and play hustling defense or you lose. Work the offense through the defensive end. Our half court O blows big time.

We’ve been looking for a pure shooter since Douby. We just never seem to get a gunner from outside.

That's it...really in a slow tempo game like yesterday (60 possessions) the number needs to be lower.

Last year in conference play we only had 4 games where we scored over 1 point per possession. Last night we were 62/60, our 5th game over 1 PPP.

Need to defend, primarily defend the line.

In an earlier thread this year I suggested we might benefit from overplaying the 3-pt line and forcing guys inside.

The same way our opponents dare us to beat them from outside, we should dare them to beat us from inside.

If we meet OSU again in the BTT, I know we can beat them again with a defensive adjustment.

Kiss was not good yesterday but 1 of the 4 was passed to him in the last seconds of the half and he had to chuck it up from well behind the line, and was fouled.

When you have a Beefy Postman knocking down.....no check that nothing but net 3 pointers and effortlessly knocking down FT's you only then realize your team is not very hood....our bigmen are banking ft's and guards are whiffing all over the place on 3pters and FT's. The ONLY complete player on the team is Omoruyi.

i mean i just don't get it,,,the first two games we were lights out shooting threes, i know, the competition was subpar. but, you still have to make the shots....is it the big ten pressure, and you can't relax to make your shot.
its really freaky that not one big ten game we had a player shoot it lights out...maybe that game is yet to come, but its very frustrating seeing the same ugly stat line......example, peter kiss had wide open looks four times, and clank...at quinnipac he wasn't that brutal.... someone on here mentioned a sports psychologist. at this point what the hell do you have to lose, either that, or and exorcism..what are the law of averages ,that not one kid on this team can get hot for just one dam friggin game...

Not true. I agree he MAY have been fouled on one of them, but even with time running down, those were uncontested 3 point shots and at least 2 of them should have been made. He came to Rutgers as being a so-called sharp-shooter. He's not.
