The 3-point line move is going to be significant, and the SEC teams all have lost their best shooters from last year. I would not expect any freshman to hit more than 35% this year and that will be considered excellent. I don't see UK losing any games as a result of a 3 point barrage from an opponent or its own lack of 3 point shooting.

UK may actually have an advantage with its returning guards and Sestina who can make the adjustment better than younger players. But none of them are going to hit big percentages this year IMO. Quickley is likely to be the best.

Also, it is still going to be true for at least another few years that the NBA is a 3 point league. So if Cal wants to continue to put guys into the NBA he is going to have to make them better shooters and help them adjust to the new line.

I think Quickley will be our best 3-point shooter, by percentage. Probably in the high 30's.

Juzang will also shoot high 30's.

Sestina will shoot mid 30's, maybe higher.

Of my projected starters (Hagans, Maxey, Whitney, Brooks, Montgomery- not counting Blackshear) I think Maxey will be the first option as a shooter, taking on the Murray, Monk, Knox, Herro role. I think Brooks is the second option. I think both shoot in the mid 30's. Hagans and Whitney shoot in the low 30's, maybe high 20's. Montgomery mid 20's.

Allen won't play much because of the injury and the depth at his position.

Volume would be an issue.

Yup.

How many shots is Juzang going to get? Quickley? Sestina? Allen? Most of us believe that they are coming off the bench. They probably shoot a high percentage at a low rate.

Maxey, Whitney, and Hagans, however, are all going to get a lot of shots.
