Sorry (Not)...I can not and will not, ever, appreciate these three individuals..., period...

Not going to watch the video as I think all three are idiots. But, I will say this, if there were ever a situation that will motivate Calipari to change his approach, style or system then, all the very public naysayers and doubter should get the job done.
If not, then perhaps it is time for him to exit.

I hate to see Cal leave but you have to admit even this recruiting cycle is average at best like he’s recruiting knowing he won’t be here next year. Then you have the players on this roster should come back since there is not one player that could go first round as of now, so this should be a team full of multi year players.
I would move on if I were in his position, there’s just to many fans that think they are entitled with over the top expectations. I would I love for them to win a title every year but realistically I know that’s not possible.
I guess we will see what Cal is made of after this season.

No one expects to win a title every season, certainly that’s the goal but not remotely reasonable. I do expect to have a team that looks like they have played the game before and especially with the #1 recruited class in America. Also don’t expect to have a coach making the $’s he is to give every excuse in the book as to why the team isn’t performing to expectations including adding the fans as a culprit. Only blame he has taken on himself is making the schedule too tough. Don’t expect my head coach to be a wuss either but here we are!!

Over-the-top salaries deserve over-the-top expectations which they are not. How many other coaches have life time contracts? To whom much is given much is expected, just as it should be. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,

But are expectations over the top? UK basketball has been around on a tournament level since 1939. That's 82 years. We've been to 38 Elite Eights in that time. If you take out a few probation years and seasons like last year, we're playing for a shot at the Final Four about every other year on average.

The expectations are there for a real historic reason.

Takeaways:

1. They are not off base on the video.

2. Cal has to get some guys back to supplement incoming players next year or I think he will leave. This season is an anomoly of sorts regardless because of COVID...I want to see a full season with guys back and fans in the stands.

3. Pat Forde is starting to look like Cals brother.

And Cal has exceeded those expectations in regards to both historic FF and EE. 11 tries (count this yr but not last). 4 FF and 7 EE.

I am grateful to what he did to rebuild the brand. My question: are we merely coasting off the gas from that original first 6 year "fill up?" Yes, the car is still moving, but the gas tank is empty and the car is no longer accelerating.

Actually, Cal has destroyed the brand. Players don't come to UK any more because of all the past traditional reasons. They come here because Cal promised them a fast lane to the NBA.

But we were good in 17,19, and 20. I mean are we not able to acknowledge that? Last year (20) we had a much better regular season than 11, 13, and 14. Why do we have to pretend we sucked last year?

This goes back to what I said, this is all about what is and what could have been.

So you have two options, abandon the Cal ship or stay on board to see if he can right this next season. In the minds of many anything short of a FF is an utter failure. Many also refuse to recognize 2019 and 2020 as good seasons...because they are fed up with Cal.

I want Cal gone now. I watched the video and while I see where they’re coming from, they aren’t recognizing his downward trend since 15. Have we had good players and teams since? of course! But every season we suffer more and more embarrassing losses.

then there’s Cal ditching fan favorite events and ticking off Nike.

oh and Cal has gotten political. And wether you agree with his politics or not it’s always best not to mix politics with peoples‘ hobbies (unless your hobby is politics, obv).

Then there his remarks towards the fan base. Instead of accepting reality and promising a better next season he blames the Ls on the fan base. It’s ridiculous.

Even though I want Cal gone now, I am a realist. He will have next season before his seat gets hot with the administration. And possibly the year after if he signs a John Wall level class. If he has a losing record next season, or close to it, and we still have mass exodus season after season he’ll be gone after next season. the only thing that might save him, is like i said, a john wall caliber class. And given the current landscape of recruiting its clear he isn’t capable of bringing in those classes anymore, since you know, he hasn’t in a long while.

Perfectly said. And it’s sometimes nice to see 3 impartial people that follow college bball basically saying “WTF” to our fan base. Just a weird year all around.
Perhaps, to be impartial, these basketball "experts" could also share some thoughts on the efficiency of the offense, effectiveness of in-bounds plays, development of players, dependence on athletic players with low level of basketball skills, roster turnover, ineffective nonsensical substitutions, continual reliance on freshman, ineffective use of incoming transfers that have proven to be effective elsewhere, disparate treatment of 5stars vs other players, etc, etc. No, its just must easier for the lazy to flippantly attack an "entitled" fan base. BS, we aren't entitled to anything in sports, or life for that matter. We do, however, have interest, passion, and opinions based on the multi-year deterioration we see with our own eyes. Why aren't they asking why $9 million isn't buying someone that can actually coach up the current team, which doesn't happen to possess superior talent?

So now you're saying elite 8 is good? Well guess who has been to 7 out of 10.
31 in 72 years before cal got here, and 19 of those were before 1978. So yea everyone's expectations are absurd

When is the article coming out on K or Izzo. Geez Louise....Izzo hasn't won a title in 20 years.
These guys just don't like Cal and take any opportunity to grind their axe with him. Self hasn't won anyting since 08'. Had plenty of talent too.
K gets a lifetime pass for 5 NC’s and numerous gold medals with team USA.
Mich St isn’t a blue blood like UK or Duke. Izzo has a ton of Final Fours and one NC. Not a Gold Standard program so below Gold Standard success is acceptable.
Self deserves a ton of heat! He is a choke artist in the tournament like Cal. Thank goodness that’s who we played in the NC game in 2012. And I’m sure Kansas fans are just as grateful they played choke man Cal and Memphis in 2008.
One of the two had to choke in each of those games.

I don’t think Cals ego will let him go anywhere. Besides the fact he has a contract. He’s not going anywhere unless he’s fired

At least those 3 idiots ADMITTED to reading THIS message board. Forde didn't name ours, but EVERYONE knows ours is the BIGGEST AND BEST.

So, you 3 KNOW NOTHINGS can BITE OUR BUTTS!!!! You all have treated UK Basketball fans AND Cal unfairly for the ENTIRE time he's been here. Even though I'm upset with the direction of the program, I DEFINITELY don't need you 3 PRICKS lecturing us on our expectations!!!

These 3 HACKS have caused me to take up for Cal, when I'm not very pleased with him right now. But these JERKS piss me off to no end rubbing our noses in the situation here!!!

You know very well why 2019 is rated below 2011, in Cal’s own priorities “we’re playing for March”. 2019 was a team that had all the right pieces and then after Travis was out a bit and came back, the chemistry fell apart and we really limped into that loss to Auburn. I gave him full credit for getting that 2011 team to play it’s best in March, so I give him full blame when 2019 played its worst.

2020 was a great regular season, but we really don’t know how we would’ve ended the season. It could’ve been another 2019, with Hagans out or questionable, and the PG position up in the air. Sadly that may have been Cal’s last chance to buy himself 5 or more years by winning a title.

As you mention later, Cal is now behind the average in the most important measure: titles. He’s also hurting our averages in losing seasons and missing the NCAA tournament, plus he lost us the 3 pt streak. If he gets us behind in all-time wins, that’ll be another L for his legacy here.

Pat Fitzgerald just signed a contract the same length as Cal’s contract at UK. There aren’t many, but 10 year contracts have happened and will continue to happen. The buyout is the ridiculous part.

Last years team was average-good but certainly not title contender good.

Each of those years provided the same problem and issue so many have- a team of 2nd tier 5 stars (Cal no longer gets the elite of the elite- that is just a fact) to go along with an obscure or random sophomore that decides to come back at literally the last minute because they’ve not been guaranteed a draft spot.

Similar to this year- we have brooks who was terrible/ hardly played last season to go along with 2nd tier 5 and 4 stars.

Next year will be similar. Rinse and repeat. It’s a broken model and Cal will not adapt.

Cal is not going anywhere, the buyout is too large.
Cal had the #1 recruiting class in America last yr and when you look at who he has coming in next yr with Oscar and the prospect of landing a couple more studs, I think we will be ok next season also.

You better stop the gloom and doomers don’t want to hear that! Of course they found stuff to ***** and moan about every year Cal has been here!

You give Cal too much credit and too much blame IMO. Players win and lose games the vast majority of the time.
