“That db” was vicari swain. In his defense the rain was heavy at that time and it’s easy to not find the ball in the lights when you look back with rain like that, which is what happened looked like to me.
I like how you say "DB". Yes, it looked like he lost the ball, but the WR was still running the route. He may be experienced, but that was a bonehead play. I'm sure he knows and will correct it.

Not trying to justify his play on that down, just offering a possible explanation, it’s happened to me before (baseball too). Receivers will stay ‘running the route’ to get a guy away from where the ball is going; ours do it too, just a little lazier. He checked back, didn’t see the ball and probably assumed that’s what was happening. I doubt we’d be that casual against a peer opponent.
