And I’ll gladly take it. We got some serious weapons in Maurice Washington and Wan’dale Robinson. Sucks we lost Washington the first half of the game. He was absolutely tearing Illinois apart. We need to game plan our offense around Washington and Robinson. And then hit JD Speilman and Jack Stoll here and there to keep defenses off balance. I also loved seeing Martinez go for 64% completion and almost 450 total yards of offense with 3 TDs and ZERO INTS. 3-1 is a lot better then 0-4. I don’t care if we win by 1 point or 40 points. Just find ways to win baby. And we broke a 12 game road losing streak tonight (if I heard that right on the radio)....GBR.
We need to stop the habit of extrapolating the season or a coach’s career from the current game and just enjoy our wins for once. Surprise for some of you: we ain’t winning a natty this year.
Exactly. We have a very young team. We will be up and down. We have some serious weapons in Washington and Robinson. We need to game plan our offense around those two guys every single game.
I wouldnt keep throwing out your use of the word "our" anymore... certainly wouldnt want you on my left or right
If this were a Pelini coached team, everybody would be bitching about a game like this. I wasn't freaking out about Colorado or NIU, but the first half of this game was probably the worst we've played all season. At some point some of these issues need to get fixed or we're not going to get to 6 wins or a bowl game. We don't have many opponents left that are as bad as Illinois, a team we were barely able to squeak by.
turnovers make things seem a lot worse than they are. we had over 300 yards at halftime and the defense had basically two bad plays, one of which was fairly decent coverage but a real good throw.
I did zero bitching about Pelini until year 6. I think the fan base as a whole gave him every chance to prove himself. Scott is in year 2. Two.
Just an observation and probably totally wrong, but those that whine so much are probably ones who've been given everything without much work or discipline. It's easy to to expect when been given "trophies" for participating. Sadly enough, life finds its way to catch these types sneaking up from their be-hind. Great work from our team; kept fighting and exhibited outstanding discipline. Use what happened as an example, not as an excuse.
First win on the road since 2017! Overcame 4 turnovers! 3 of the fumbles turned into TDS. Overcoming that on the road is huge!
I fully agree sir. However, of course, AMart is a very, very serious weapon too. I'm sure you would agree that we have a triplet of awesome offensive talent.
Maybe while only baby steps but our OLine looks improved somewhat. Now, if we can just get one or two more wrs who can catch the ball.
