2nd high school for Gretna scheduled to open in 2024. Again, class A and B, especially A, continues to slowly creep more and more into just Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.
GI is really the outlier, they are in the top 8 consistently from enrollment. Kearney High somewhat. But Norfolk, Columbus, and NP are always at the bottom of the enrollment barrel in Class A.2nd high school for Gretna scheduled to open in 2024. Again, class A and B, especially A, continues to slowly creep more and more into just Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.
New schools built/being built
Elkhorn North (Open 2020)
Lincoln Northwest school (Fall 2022)
Lincoln South school (Fall 2023)
New Gretna school (Fall 2023)
OPS South Omaha (Fall 2022)
OPS Far Northwest Omaha (Fall 2022)
That's at least four Class A schools, with Gretna probably being there some day too.
Wouldn’t shock me if Bennington builds another high school too. Lots of money that way.I'm assuming the OPS and LPS schools will start out in A and Elkhorn North and Elkhorn High will be A within the next 5 years? Guessing the new Gretna will be A by 2030 if not sooner.
Also Bennington will be A before we know it and PLV may be the next to add another high school within the next 10 years. Likely will see between 6-9 new class A schools in next 10 years. Getting harder and harder to win in that class.
GI is really an outlier.
