Give me a break. Increase the price now. I'm so sick of you all making money on the tickets while the rest of us can't afford to go. There is no reason baseball should lose money and be subsidized by football. We're going to possibly set the attendance record for a college baseball yearly attendance but might not come out ahead in revenue.

I'm confused here. You're complaining about the high price of a ticket, but you want to raise the price of it? What are you trying to buy a ticket for?

They cannot raise the prices until after the 2029 season.

Cheer up, football will be here soon enough and they will be selling those 4 tickets and a parking pass for $120 including the shuttle because otherwise they will go unsold. That's $30/ticket including parking for non-math majors.

South Carolina baseball tickets this weekend are $22 ea. and that's STANDING ROOM ONLY, not even a seat included. If you want to park its $20 in the parking garage or $25 in reserved lots that have availability. So 4 tickets and parking will cost you $108 PLUS the $20 online handling fee they charge you for not even touching the tickets online so now you're at $128 and still can't sit down anywhere and a shuttle isn't included. Find something else to complain about...................

How much money do they make on the midweek games I wonder...

I'm all about the university charging market clearing prices for seating. I'm not sure an SEC game late in the season tells much about whether the university is doing that.

Also, I don't think the university did a good job of explaining to people that if they didn't sign up for a five year (or whatever it was) commitment, there would be basically no availability for seating for the length of that commitment and likely well beyond. But if part of that commitment was a max price guarantee for how many years, not much to do about it now other than wait it out.

ETA: It also gives a sport that basically doesn't make money a break on spending. We don't have a good excuse for our schedule this year, but in general, we should be able to fill an early season midweek game with a nearby team that is bad that allows the traveling team to save some money. I don't want to play Valley by an means, but it shouldn't be extremely painful to beat Valley once in a 55 game schedule.

I don't think they had to that explaining. Most everyone who had seats in the old stadium took advantage of the deal, and they didn't have to get too far down the BDC list to fill it up.

That's the price on resale sites. People resell them for a nice profit so MSU could raise prices and make more money on them

It's been a little while since this was debated almost every week on sixpack, but if I recall the claim was that they basically sized the stadium based on interest in a five year (or seven year?) commitment and that had more people that committed, the further down the foul lines the stadium would be built. Maybe I am misremembering what was claimed, or maybe the people claiming that were full of ****.

have you looked on the various MSU Ticket FB pages? I've seen multiple people selling tickets at less than that recently. Also, when I don't use my tickets, until this year I always gave them away. This year I have sold them for face value, so not everybody is taking advantage of the system.

I do the same with my football tickets. I know someone that was going to the LSU series but the price for chairback was $400 at the time so he didn't go. I'm just saying if the fans are profiting and the team is losing money and takes away from a team that actually needs the additional revenue (football), prices need to be increased. Imagine if baseball was making a profit, the sooner for upgrades/additions.

You’re talking to people who care a whole lot more about their ability to have premium seats than they do about football having to subsidize baseball even with the high demand of the fanbase for baseball. You can talk to them until you’re blue in the face. They do not care. They are selfish rednecks making 50k a year that have no business being able to afford something that high in demand but they get that little feather in their cap and have some friends giving them blow jobs for the one thing in their life that they have access to so they will fight tooth and nail to not have those prices set at market value.

Yeah, that is what I remember too. But even that was incredibly short sided. You left no room for the fanbase to grow or expand. I understand the thought process of only building what you have sold but man we are certainly missing out revenue. I feel quite certain we could build something north of 10k actual chairbacks and we’d sell 90% of those in actual season tickets. We created a situation where if you were not in a position to buy season tickets at the time the stadium was built, you’re out of luck.

Can’t build a stadium based on GA average joes. Reality.

I always sell my tickets here “cheap” because I want dogs in the seats and want people to support the team when I can’t go. Certainly not trying to make a nice profit.

What’s the deal with the rooftop club passes this year? I used to get emails as to when they would be an available but have other than a non-conference series earlier in the year. Are they all pre-sold or offered to season ticket holders first?

I can tell you that your stereotype of the fans that I know of that have these seats couldn't be more wrong. Most are successful professionals and spend money on every other sport that State fields. Have you ever been to a weekend series where there is a preceding basketball game and noticed how the seatbacks don't fill up until after the basketball game ends? Some of you need to stop and realize that what we have would not be there if it weren't for these ticket holders ponying up the money years ago. In return they have had the ability to continue to buy these seats for a 10 year period. They got these seats based on their Bulldog Club rankings and when the 10 Year agreement is up, (plus the Covid year) guess what, they will get them again. Any price increase will absolutely be passed along to the secondary market. Your angst against your fellow fan base is misplaced.

There is a very large contingent of baseball only boosters in this fanbase. You’re wrong. I literally sat by 2 different ones a few weeks ago. One of them is a woman who is an Alabama football fan (you can’t make this **** up) and only goes to baseball games and was bitching the entire game about the ticket prices going up in a few years and the other was in the Lounge. There is a major problem in the baseball fanbase. Not minor. Major.

Myself and all other chairback holders stepped up when the school needed us to and spent thousands of dollars to secure a 10 year seat license.

You didn’t.

Guess what I’m going to do when that contract is up….Step up again.

I’m sorry you are mad you can’t get a ticket for your interpretation of a reasonable price. Forgive us that have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years to have these seats if we don’t share your frustration.
