As an aside, seeing SCHS start to have more hammers on its roster under the tutelage of - checks notes - some dude named Jason Nickal seems to be a somewhat positive development.

I mean - it’s no Stillwater High - which rivals Dagestan even if ten gallon hats aren’t factored in, but it’s a start

If Jason really wanted to turn it into that, he could.

Some targeted PS recruits...

Weight Seed Wrestler
106 2 Nelson Villafane III
113 1 Kooper Deputy
113 2 Evan Restivo
113 9 William Soto

132 11 Alex Marchetti
132 25 Frank Leanza

Very little in the way of future NCAA champions here. I'm not sure I see one that I would consider a sure thing.

Oh, no doubt. Oklahoma high school wrestling was top tier when the Andrews Sisters were topping the chart. Things have changed

I want to see how Villafane develops. Howard is probably the best of the rest. I see most of them being middle of the podium guys. Heeg is the best wrestler in the tournament if he's big enough for 175.

It must suck to be an Iowa fan and that's terrific. Almost everyone they'd pull for or against (Amato) isn't wrestling.

[Coastal2]

A few minor upsets so far with some 5s and 6s going down and a 3.

Nate Kasak has been eliminated going 1-2

Nelson Villafane has 4 TFs. Probably the most impressive so far.

[BigFella235]

Karenbauer started his second match slow by getting behind 7-0 then pinned his kid in a tilt. He’s since picked up 2 pins and now sits in the quarterfinals

[Coastal2]

Nate Schuman of Honesdale beat Odiotti, the 2 seed, to reach the quarters at 113

[grap54]

He's big enough he's 185

At the state tournament last year, he still had the body type of a career 157-pounder. He's obviously grown a few inches - it runs in his family.

[Coastal2]

The state of Iowa has 2 in the quarters and one is Hayden Schwab.

[Coastal2]

Noah Desmond FL (IMG, Nate's brother )rides out the third period to win 1-0 and stay alive in the consolations. Lost 4-2 to Spencer Lee on the top side. He's 5-1 so far on the day.

I heard about a tic tock challenge that entailed licking doorknobs. Could be a story here...
