I think there is a great deal of talent on that Nittany Lion bench that could contribute right now.
This year? Highly doubtful. HIGHLY doubtful
I mean, look at the roster of guys who aren't currently playing a lot.

Some that might develop - at some time - into players who could contribute? Sure.

The fans have yet come to grips with just what dire straights this program is in. MC may turn out to be the HC a lot of people thought and hoped he would be but it's going to take years of good recruiting to make that happen. Recruiting because PS doesn't have the money to compete in the NIL market. MC better be a great recruiter and we don't even know if he can be.

Aside from the in-game goofs by MC and his staff they get a pass from me this year and I doubt that will change next year as he will be starting from scratch all over again.

If after year three things haven't gotten a lot better MC and the AD will have both disappeared from PS.
As of this moment in time, the PSU football roster is similar to the PSU Men's BB roster - in that it is a collection of vagabonds that are clearly not doing much now, and don't really contain the elements for future success.

Fortunately, PSU has much more to offer to potential football players - and has nothing preventing it from a large-scale revamp to being MUCH more competitive as early as 2027.
