Whoaaaaa! Didn’t see that coming. Good luck Drew. Hope you work out as well as our other QB from Ohio.

Why does he need to sit for two years? This is almost surely Rodgers' last year, assuming he comes back. Allar, Howard and Rudolph all have a crack at being the 2027 Steelers starting QB.If Aaron returns, stays healthy and isn't a distraction--then maybe but Drew needs to sit for probably 2 years. Rams, Eagles, Lions, etc would have been nice fits.
Who cares? It turns out his high school girlfriend (seated next to him), Emma Bush, is a law school student at The Ohio State University.
The makings of a good rivalry commercial.
Why? He’s going to be coached by someone who has coached a HOF qb and another qb who has put up big numbers in his career. I still am not convinced that even with elite coaching, he’ll be able to be a competent NFL qb, but congratulations to him as he went higher than I thought that he would go.Poor Drew

The Steelers have Mason Rudolph, who I think would play in the event of a Rodgers injury, unless Allar or Will Howard show a lot. Rudolph isn't great but he's serviceable. As backups go he's pretty good. If Allar plays ahead of Rudolph as a rookie then that would say a lot for how well Allar is developing. He went around where he was going to go--he was a Day 2 guy because of the regression due to (we can debate this)
Pittsburgh isn't a good fit--if Aaron doesn't come back or is injured (both possible if not likely) there will be immediate pressure on him with a veteran team when (and I think you'd agree) he has to sit for probably 2 years
You think more of McCarthy than I do
I just wish that they’d move on from a guy who’s going to be 43 and play one of the young guys and take your lumps for a few seasons and start rebuilding properly. This team has NO chance to win a Super Bowl next season, so why delay the rebuilding? I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish in last place in their division in 2026 even with Rodgers. I also wish that they’d trade guys like Watt too, but they won’t.The Steelers have Mason Rudolph, who I think would play in the event of a Rodgers injury, unless Allar or Will Howard show a lot. There's a solid chance Mason won't be on the roster this year let alone in 2027. The moment we took Allar I'm sure his agent was panning on where they could goWhy does he need to sit for two years? Four QBs (if Rodgers returns) may be too many to keep.
We disagree on Mason being on the roster--we also disagree about him being serviceable which is why Tennessee gave him up and no one else ever takes a shot on him.The Steelers have Mason Rudolph, who I think would play in the event of a Rodgers injury, unless Allar or Will Howard show a lot. Right--all valid but if they aren't willing to trade Watt and Cam then they can't rebuild.I just wish that they’d move on from a guy who’s going to be 43 and play one of the young guys and take your lumps for a few seasons and start rebuilding properly. Watt also is becoming a rapidly diminishing asset; he reminds me a lot of the current Phillies players.Right--all valid but if they aren't willing to trade Watt and Cam then they can't rebuild.
Truthfully, I think the organization fears trading him because he's definitely the fan favorite--probably should have made that move when they drafted Pickett--value isn't nearly as good now.Watt also is becoming a rapidly diminishing asset; he reminds me a lot of the current Phillies players.
Disappointing day for a couple Penn Staters
DDS & Wheatley should go early tomorrow. I'd be shocked if Durant, Shelton, Singleton and Kaytron don't go tomorrow. Maybe Dinkins. Maybe Rucci. Good luck to all of them.
More like poor Pittsburgh, but it is their own fault. Seriously what are they thinking? How many average to below average QBs can they acquire? Besides Rodgers who is way past his prime the list reads Rudolph, Trubisky, Pickett, over the hill Russell Wilson, Fields, Will Howard and now......drum roll....Drew Allar. I probably missed someone who is totally forgettable. Why? He’s going to be coached by someone who has coached a HOF qb and another qb who has put up big numbers in his career. DDS was so overrated at PSU. He was supposed to be this dominating and disruptive EDGE guy and never lived up to that. This draft is exposing him.Disappointing? This past season, Penn State had a measly 3 conference wins against some of the weakest B1G teams. They finished with a 3-6 conference record. You are what your record says you are. The draft results in the first 3 rounds reflect that. The draft results are about what was expected considering the 2025 disaster.
Yes, being a bum and a pauper.Tony Dorsett is alive? I thought he died of something.
WTF Shane? Nerves, neuro,I thought he announced the pick for the Bills. Oops, my bad. That was Conlin -- confusing PSUers
YepWas he the one who was really happy for the other OSU guys and hugging them all when they got called? He looked genuinely happy for them.
Actually, the draft is further exposing Franklin‘s failures overall. He gave a boatload of nil money to the seniors. The NFL has decided only two players were worthy of the first three rounds. I actually think DDS has gotten a raw deal. He’s going to be solid in the NFL and played very well down the stretch after Franklin‘s termination.DDS was so overrated at PSU. That's not how the draft works but feel free to complain about 2025Disappointing? This past season, Penn State had a measly 3 conference wins against some of the weakest B1G teams. Nussmeier Beck and Allar were all comparable. Allar was the most upside with Beck being the safest. The fact Allar finally gets to play in a pro scheme will help greatly. 3rd round pick...all they're looking for here is a backup. If he's more...that's awesome. Is nussmeyer injury worse than they are saying. Really thought all signs were pointing to him as his cyst in his spine was causing pain all throughout last season. Otherwise, I don’t get the Allar pick. Now as a Steeler fan I’m hoping Allar wakes up and realizes his potential!
Love it - gonna drive those sPitt Fans insane.Drew Allar - The next Big Ben

Agreed, Drew needs coaching and competition. Something he did not get at Penn State. He will either sink or swim. Also a smart move by the Steelers, they had three picks in the 3rd, so what did they have to lose? Why?
